Steam has released the system requirements for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1, and they are fairly reasonable. You will only need 8 GB of RAM to play the game on recommended graphics which is rare to see in modern AAA games. The requirements for Ultra settings haven’t come out yet, but the requisites for minimum and recommended graphics are suitable.
On the lower end, players will only require an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980, AMD Radeon RX 470, or Intel Arc A750 to run Mortal Kombat 1. The minimum graphics also require only 8 GB of RAM to run the fighting game. Unsurprisingly, a 64-bit processor and a Windows 10 operating system are essential to play the title. In addition, an Intel Core i5-6600, AMD Ryzen 3 3100, or Ryzen 5 2600 will be enough to play the upcoming game.
Moving on, if you want the best results, you will need AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, Intel Arc A770, or an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. Just like the minimum requisites, a 64-bit processor and Windows 10 or 11 64-bit operating system are necessary. Furthermore, you will need the Intel Core i5-8400 or the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X processor to play Mortal Kombat 1 on recommended settings.
The 8 GB RAM requirement stays consistent in the recommended settings section of the game’s Steam page. You will need DirectX Version 12 to play Mortal Kombat 1 on both minimum and recommended settings. Furthermore, players will need to clear up 100 GB of space on their storage device to run the fighting game. This download requisite applies to both the minimum and recommended settings to play the title.
NetherRealm Studios officially revealed Mortal Kombat 1 on May 18, 2023, as a soft reboot of the franchise. Taking place in a brand new timeline created by the fire God Liu Kang, this is the second reboot of the franchise after 2011’s Mortal Kombat. As per series creator Ed Boon, the game will also not be set in the same continuity as Mortal Kombat 11.
Moreover, this upcoming reboot will tell the origins of the characters, who’ll have entirely different relationships and roles compared to previous games. Hence, as Ed Boon mentioned himself, this will be a beginning of a new universe. A leaked Amazon ad also gave us a look at the star-studded guest characters in Mortal Kombat 1. The fighting game’s “kombat pack” will reportedly feature Peacemaker, Homelander, and Omni-Man.

Hence, the upcoming reboot is going to be a fresh take on the franchise filled with A-list guest stars. Furthermore, a beta will be released in August and anyone who preorders the game on the PlayStation and Xbox consoles will gain access to it. All platforms will experience fatalities as Warner Bros. is releasing the game on PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S on September 19, 2023.
