Despite the recent improvements, EA mostly missed its mark with Battlefield 2042 when the whole community awaited the next big title in the franchise. Many original fans lost hope in the game and eventually moved on. But the franchise might see a revival with the upcoming Battlefield. As first spotted by Tech4Gamers, a new job listing by EA suggests that the next title in the series will feature the “most realistic destruction.”
The company is hiring a capable VFX director who can manage to whip up “the most realistic and exciting destruction effects in the industry.” The requirement directly alludes to EA’s deep focus on realistic destruction elements for the next Battlefield entry. The senior 3D artist is expected to transform the franchise as we know it with the most hyper-realistic destruction physics we have likely seen so far.
The studio Ripple Effect is specifically hiring a talented figure who can handle that part of the title. The employee is expected to create “stunning real-time visual effects using a mastery of high-quality particle effects, textures, and shaders.” The required skills also mention that a focus on optimization and hyper-realism for multiple platforms is necessary for the VFX director.

The destruction effects improved massively in the later maps that came out in Battlefield 2042, which was a massive disparity from the barren initial maps that were included when the game launched. The feat is credited to the support artists who may play a role again for the next title to make the large-scale warfare stand out and feel more realistic.
Previous Battlefield games were renowned for featuring the best destruction effects at the time. Many titles in the series gained popularity against giants like COD precisely due to that reason. However, Battlefield 2042 landed far away from what the fans desired. EA has possibly realized and learned from the weaknesses and wants to avoid them by specifically focusing on the destruction effects from the get-go.
The job listing also suggests the rumored entry is at least in the pre-production phase. Nevertheless, we suggest taking the new rumor with a massive grain of salt. The official details for the next Battlefield title are next to none as of now. Significant details like the setting of the next FPS still remain a mystery.
