- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is Respawn Entertainment’s latest RPG hit, building upon the mystifying universe of Star Wars while furthering the story of our protagonist Cal Kestis. The game was released on April 28, 2023, and has been a massive success among fans and critics alike.
- Following its release, Jedi: Survivor has received numerous discounted deals, but the one that’s currently live is nothing to skip past if you haven’t picked up the title yet.
- Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and GameSpot are among the retailers that are currently hosting a 21% and 26% discount on Jedi: Survivor for its PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X physical variants respectively. If you wouldn’t mind having a non-digital copy of the game, now’s the perfect time to act quickly.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is flat-out one of the best releases of 2023 that has managed to garner quite the reputation to its name across the board. A title such as this going on discount, especially when you’ve been waiting to pick it up for a while now, is a fortuitous scenario. As it turns out, therefore, Jedi: Survivor’s retail price has been reduced by 21%-26% on a handful of marketplaces online, including Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.
Do note that it’s the physical versions of the title that have been discounted. Those on the Xbox Series X can grab the title for as low as $51.95 right now while the PlayStation 5 players will have to pay a little more, about $54.99 in total. This is a fairly generous discount on a game of this AAA stature, allowing you to step into the shoes of who is now a full-blown Jedi Knight, ready to go beyond his training and brave even more perilous terrors.
Unfortunately, if you’ve been eyeing a digital code for your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series S, those are still at full prices. However, PC players can rest easy, knowing that Steam’s Summer Sale is currently live and booming. The title has been discounted to $52.49 for both Origin and Steam platforms, should you choose to indulge in any of them.
Like most of the high-budgeted, essentially high-quality releases of the day and age we live in today, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s launch period did not go swimmingly. The issue here arose from the PC side of things, with early impressions that hinted at another lousy PC port. Upon its release, the title accumulated a “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam for its poor performance on PC, while console players marched on with a polished experience.
This led EA to publicly announce “weeks of patches” for Jedi: Survivor ahead of its release, and it did come to be. Month in and month out, the publisher outed update after update for its ambitious action-adventure, squashing bugs and fixing crashes to restore normalcy and balance for PC players. Not long after that did the community start to come around, and cross more than 67,000 concurrent players on Steam for Jedi: Survivor.
In other news, EA has been called out for not individually crediting translators during the ending sequence of the title. We’ve yet to receive an update on that front, given the lack of any response from the company. The prospect has raised concerns about other similar issues prevalent in the gaming industry, and how there are more game-developing studios that tend to miss out on giving credits to relevant personnel.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was released on April 28, 2023, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game is centered on the story of Cal Kentis—the returning protagonist from the title’s predecessor Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order—who is seemingly entering the next phase of his life after the events of the latter. This time around, Cal is buffed up than ever, considering that he’s way beyond his training, to embark on yet another adventure.
