Blizzard‘s Overwatch 2 game director, Aaron Keller, admitted his mistake of revealing the upcoming self-healing feature for all characters without context. The change wasn’t received well by the Overwatch 2 community, as many players wondered if the upcoming change would undermine the usefulness of support characters in the game.

Overwatch 2 is a highly competitive game. Last week, Aaron Keller revealed in a blog post that a self-healing feature for all characters was coming in the upcoming Season 9. The news came out of nowhere and sparked a lot of confusion among the player base. However, we finally have an update on the news as Overwatch 2’s game director tweeted that talking about this lone change out of context was a mistake.

According to Aaron Keller, the self-healing passive feature is part of a much bigger set of changes that are coming in Season 9 of the competitive shooter. Some of these changes are targeting the role of DPS in securing kills, the damage spikiness in the game, and the overall strength and role of healing in the shooting game. Aaron has further assured the fans that more details about the Season 9 balance changes will be coming soon.
