PlayStation Reiterates 7 Great PS Plus Titles For Local Multiplayer

All of these are part of the base PlayStation Plus membership as well.

Story Highlights

  • PlayStation Plus is the PlayStation platform’s premiere gaming subscription service.
  • The service comprises membership tiers, with each having a catalog of games to play.
  • A new blog post by PlayStation highlights 7 high-quality PS+ titles for local multiplayer.

Let’s face it—we’ve all been there, sifting through the entire catalog of our PlayStation Plus membership trying to find something high-quality to play with a friend or a significant other, but only in vain. The library of playable games is huge in that sense, so if local multiplayer, couch co-op is the focus, this new post on the PlayStation Blog highlights 7 terrific entries that you shouldn’t be sleeping on.

And the best part is, that these titles are available for every tier of the PlayStation Plus subscription, namely Essential, Extra, and Premium, so you don’t have to worry about upgrading to another level if you’re subscribed to either Essential or Extra currently. I’ve personally played all of them and can easily vouch for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, The Ascent, and Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary Collection.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

First off, you have Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, a Borderlands spin-off project, at your disposal, boasting terrific gunplay and loot mechanics, and a bustling open world to explore and wreak havoc in. You can play as Tina, and get joined by three more characters with your friends controlling them in four-user split-screen co-op. It’s a truckload of fun, especially if you love grinding for loot and great rewards.

eXputer reviewed the title and rated it a cool 4.0/5.0 score, praising its phenomenal gameplay loop, the combination of spells and melee weapons, great humor with fantastic voice acting, and striking visuals as well, especially on current-gen consoles.

The Ascent

The Ascent

Coming out in 2021, The Ascent is a chaotic cyberpunk-themed isometric shooter that has been revered across the board for its fine-tuned mechanics, and fantastic entertainment if paired with a group of friends. The learning curve with a controller may seem hard at fast, but once it clicks, it’ll be hard to turn your PlayStation off.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Think Astro’s Playroom, but on a larger scale. Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a top-tier platformer, recognized for its stellar gameplay, catchy visuals and art direction, and a fun-filled storyline that grips players right until the end. The game lets you play with up to three more players at a single time, thereby making way for some great co-op leisure.

And as for the other games that you can try out thanks to your PlayStation Plus membership, you’ve got the following. Give them a go with a friend and indulge in some high-end co-op fun.

  • Nobody Saves the World
  • Street Fighter: 30th Anniversary Collection
  • Dragon’s Crown Pro
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
