Rainbow Six Mobile Officially Unveiled By Ubisoft

Previously rumored Rainbow Six Mobile has officially been announced by Ubisoft; players can participate in the play-tests now.

Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege has been a massive success in the multiplayer shooter genre. The game has dominated the e-Sports scene and it’s no surprise that the game is still widely popular despite years of its ruling over the gaming world. A few days ago, we reported that Rainbow Six Mobile was to be announced for mobile devices this month, and that day has finally come.

Ubisoft has officially unveiled Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Mobile, an upcoming free-to-play tactical first-person shooter mobile game from the Rainbow Six franchise. The trailer resembles the original version a lot; however, the title has been reworked wholly for mobile platforms. Displayed in the game’s key art are operators Caveira, Bandit, Smoke, Valkyrie, Mute, Ash, Sledge, Twitch, Thermite, and Hibana. The trailer includes some gameplay footage and looks optimized for mobile devices. Furthermore, the game also brings back beloved maps like Bank and Border.

In this new title, players will be set against each other in 5v5 matches, or “Attack vs. Defence.” As the name implies, attackers will have to gain intel on their enemy by deploying gadgets like drones and breaching walls. In the meantime, players on the defense team will have to certify that their intel is protected using spy cameras and traps. The game may appear like a full version of the title shrunk for mobile; however, one line from the blog post, “Rainbow Six Mobile will allow you to play the game you love in short, accessible bursts,” might suggest shorter game durations and modes.

“By blending strategy with teamwork [in Rainbow Six Mobile], players will experience the thrill of intense close-quarter combat as they alternate between attacking and defending to win it all,” Ubisoft mentions. “Players will assemble a fully customizable team of highly trained operators from the Rainbow Six universe, each equipped with their unique skillset, weapons, and gadgetry.”

Rainbow Six Mobile will be free-to-play; however, no release date has been mentioned or hinted at thus far. Players curious about trying out this new portable, Rainbow Six Siege-like experience can sign up for a chance to become part of upcoming play-tests on the Rainbow Six Mobile website.
