Resident Evil 4 Remake’s Best Mechanic Gets Added To The Original

Thank the modders.

Story Highlights

  • A modder by the name of qingsheng has managed to implement a fully functional parry system in the original Resident Evil 4.
  • Capcom revamped the gameplay in its remake and allowed players to experience a whole new Resident Evil 4 after nearly 2 decades.

Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 4 introduced us to one of the best mechanics of the game, parrying. This game-changing ability has now been fully implemented in the original title thanks to the efforts of a Chinese modder by the name of qingsheng. Players can follow the instructions provided to download the application and experience the original Resident Evil 4 once again.

In order to recreate the parry animation from the remake, it appears that qingsheng made use of Jack Krauser’s slash animation. This can be seen in the clip when Leon attempts to deflect incoming projectiles. Granted it feels clunky compared to the fluid system found in the remake, but it’s still a great achievement considering Resident Evil 4 originally launched in 2005.

The trainer itself comes with a full package of features besides the parry mechanic which players will find useful in some capacity. Of course, such applications can be a cause of concern due to anti-virus software flagging them but most trainers get treated this way due to their nature of editing the executable program in real-time. Link also reassured one user who claimed to have found multiple viruses in the application after running a scan.

Resident Evil 4 was given the remake treatment earlier this year and it managed to live up to the original’s legacy. Despite having some issues, it was a resounding success and managed to have a near-flawless launch, a feat you seldom see in the modern-day gaming space. Among the several things that were revamped and refined was the title’s gameplay. These adjustments made the gameplay experience a lot more fluid and responsive.

Players may feel restricted in several areas in the original after having played the remake. Nevertheless, it’s an impressive achievement to have added the parrying system and breathe new life into a near-legendary classic.

Resident Evil 4’s remake is available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Read on to see how Capcom managed to capture true perfection.
