The leaked trailer offers some tantalizing clues. References to iconic New York locations like Vinnie’s pizzeria suggest a familiar open-world setting, a staple of Insomniac’s successful Marvel’s Spider-Man titles. Intriguingly, the trailer hints at the appearance of the Sinister Six—a notorious group of Spider-Man villains—with villains like Doctor Octopus, Shocker, Electro, Scorpion, Mysterio, and Venom.
Also, the trailer showcases a heavy focus on multiplayer with noticeable characters like Spider-Gwen, Silk, Scarlet Spider, and Spider-Man 2099. Interestingly, there are different portals through which the Spider-Men can hop onto unique worlds like the Spider-Man Noir dimension.
The Potential Of A Multiplayer Spider-Man Game
While the prospect of teaming up with other heroes to swing through New York is undeniably exciting, this wouldn’t be the first time the webhead has been a part of a multiplayer game. Earlier titles like Spider-Man Friend or Foe explored the co-op elements but were deemed lackluster by fans.

If this game were to be made, it would need to carve its unique path while living up to the exceptional single-player experience players have come to expect from Marvel’s Spider-Man titles. If Insomniac Games were to pick up this canceled project again, I would love to see the multiplayer experience Spider-Man The Great Web has to offer.
