Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Leak Reveals Cut Content, Including Riot And Other Symbiotes

The game was supposedly going to feature all these bosses.

Story Highlights

  • A new Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 leak has revealed cut content that includes Riot and other symbiotes.
  • The Riot, Lasher, Agony, and Phage symbiotes were allegedly planned to appear in the game.
  • These characters could appear in a DLC or the next rumored Marvel’s Venom game.

The Insomniac Games leak has resulted in heaps of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 details spilling out that gamers were never meant to see. Now, new findings shared by Worm on Twitter have revealed cut content that was intended to be included in the game before the devs changed plans. The leaks clarify that many Symbiotes, including Riot, were allegedly planned to appear together as a team.

Worm confirms that these were found through the PC dev build of the game. The data mining also pointed out that Venom was apparently intended to appear in Act 2 instead of the final act. It would have centered around an arc based on “separation anxiety.” The game story was pivoted towards focusing on Kraven and Venom instead.

Leaked Models Of All The Symbiotes

The leaked models have confirmed that the Life Foundation would have also been present in some form in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, thus featuring a drastically different story. The in-dev models of each symbiote, including Agony, Riot, Phage, and Lasher by Visceral, can be viewed below.

Featuring all the symbiotes in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was likely too burdensome for the devs. Perhaps that is why Insomniac Games made huge changes to the story and abandoned them besides Venom, Scream, and Anti-Venom. Additionally, we learned that over 90% of voice lines recorded for Venom were also cut from the final version of the entry, leaving many fans curious about what the original story was supposed to be.

The rest of the content might appear in one of the upcoming DLCs for the game or in the rumored Marvel’s Venom. I suggest taking the rumors with a grain of salt.
