Uncharted Content Is Making Its Way To Fortnite

Fortnite is one of the world’s most prominent battle royale video games out there, having a rather humble beginning. Epic Games had released Fortnite, a cooperative survival game, into early access. Epic saw the potential in the battle royale genre that was booming at the time. They blended a few of the survival elements from the main game and threw in the formula of Battle Royale. Fortnite came out on September 17th, 2017, and became a global phenomenon. 

This battle royale has been innovating while keeping its original essence. They have done a lot of collaborations, from cosmetic items to weaponry and even dedicating entire seasons to them. Significant partnerships include Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War, National Football League, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Star Wars, and the list goes on. 

Uncharted Skins Coming To Fortnite

It has become relatively standard to hear about Fortnite alliancing with big names. This time Epic Games is collaborating with Uncharted. Naughty Dog‘s beloved game franchise is being adapted into a movie this February. This is the third time Playstation teams up with Fortnite, succeeding Kratos and Aloy in Chapter 2. It likely won’t be the final one either, mainly because Sony has invested in Epic in history and is on a quest to widen its horizons.

A challenge initially leaked for Week 11 that asks players to “Collect Treasure using an Uncharted Treasure Map.” More is revealed in the following tweet:

Epic Games have not confirmed which Uncharted skins are on the way to Fortnite. It is apparent that one will be Nathan Drake, the main character of the series. Fans speculate that it will be based on Tom Holland‘s turn as the character, with the movie due out shortly and him already appearing as Spider-Man for a No Way Home collaboration. 

We will probably see Sully as an option. However, it’s predicted that we will get a female skin like Elena or Chloe to even out the skins. Comparatively to MJ, that was released besides No Way Home Spider-Man. But we will have to wait and see. For now, this is just based on the leak, as nothing official has been announced.

Character Prices And Release Date

The Uncharted skins should fetch 1500 VBucks a piece when released to the Fortnite Item Shop derived from every other crossover skin, including other gaming ones. Players can also anticipate the Uncharted set that includes the skin(s) and other miscellaneous cosmetics for 2400+ VBucks.

Although not confirmed, according to the leak, the challenge releases on February 17th, 2022, and the Uncharted movie comes out in theaters on February 18th, 2022. 

Overall, Fortnite has stayed relevant for many years; various things attribute to that. One factor that has dilated its player base is the flexibility of the title, and it has been available on all major platforms. Furthermore, Fortnite is the first hit battle royale that is free-to-play. The player-friendly model has inspired other games to make free-to-play titles while adding paid cosmetics and items in the shop.
