It looks like the next Mass Effect title could resort to shifting towards the series’ no-open-world formula. The notable insider Jez Corden appeared in a podcast episode and talked about the rumor he heard about the game. Around the 1:37:44 time in the video, he said that BioWare is likely going to transition into the same formula the original trilogy used.
I have heard that Mass Effect is ditching open-world to go back to its classic format. I don’t know if that’s accurate 100 percent, but it is an interesting rumor.”

Mass Effect Andromeda was quite a failure in many facets that left a sour aftertaste in the mouths of gamers. The title lacked the most basic features and also featured a story that was not as captivating as the popular trilogy. It also included barren open-world elements that were not well received.
