There has been some confusion regarding how Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is even an Assassin’s Creed game when there are no assassins but the developers are trying to provide as much information as possible and according to the game’s senior producer, Marc-Alexis Cote, believes that might as well be “the best Assassin’s Creed ever made.” ‘
Cote went into details regarding Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and according to him, this could be remembered as the best Assassins Creed game ever. The following is what he had to say:
“The work that we’re doing on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey really builds on top of what we did on Syndicate All the team knows is they can build a great game and we’re using that energy to build an experience that’s even greater and probably what’s going to be remembered as the best Assassin’s Creed ever made.”
The rest of the team behind the game also had a few things to say about Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and according to Patrick Klaus, studio managing director, Ubisoft Quebec:
“Odyssey isn’t just a title in the game, it’s also the adventure that we started together three years ago. 400 developers in Ubisoft Quebec City plus, I dunno, 400 developers across the world, working together.”
That is a lot of people working on a game and Ubisoft is known for making immersive and exciting open worlds, so Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is an experience to look forward to even if there are no Assassins in the game. According to game director Scott Phillips:
“When we talked about what we wanted to do with our next Assassin’s Creed, ancient Greece became one of those places that was really interesting to us,”
We indeed have some new insights regarding Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and the vision of the game. The developers seem to feel very confident in what they have made and if that is indeed the case then there is no reason why the fans should not like it as well. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is another chapter in the series and while it is 400 years earlier than Origins, the modern part of the game is a sequel.
