Rockstar Games has announced the end of its more than three years old partnership with Amazon’s Twitch Prime. According to the post, the decision will be implemented on GTA Online first starting 31st March.

Twitch Prime users who played GTA Online between March 30 and March 31 will receive a compensatory reward of GTA$125,000. Unfortunately, for GTA Online players, the time to claim this reward has already passed, as we are already into April. But there’s still time for the players roaming in the wild west to claim their bit.

As mentioned in the post, Twitch Prime subscribers who play Red Dead Online before April 4 will receive multiple compensatory rewards, including,

  • (5) Gold Bars
  • The Howl Emote
  • A Select Colorway of the Buckley Hat
  • A Select Colorway of the Rivera Hooded
  • Tunic

This announcement came out of nowhere. Twitch Prime was the second most favorite subscription option for GTA Online players, behind GTA+. And the fact that despite this so nonchalantly has surprised many. They expected a more formal announcement.

The fans were also a bit disappointed with the decision. Most of them said they would miss the weekly GTA$125,000 bonus. The service also used to offer discounts on in-game items and features, and some fans were sad to see the end of it. But despite their disappointment, they are aware every cycle comes to an end, and this is true for this as well.
