Story Highlights
- A LEGO Harry Potter collection has been rumored to be in the works for months.
- The collection would cover every Harry Potter book/movie, similar to the Skywalker Saga collection.
- The game could be announced on August 25th, according to a deleted post.
Earlier this year it was reported that TT Games shelved multiple projects to focus on a LEGO Harry Potter collection, a game that would cover every movie/book in the mainline Harry Potter Series. This game would reportedly follow the formula of the Lego Skywalker Saga, and according to job postings, the Harry Potter LEGO collection could be open-world as well.
This news comes from industry insider Idle Sloths discord server, where a screenshot of a now-deleted announcement of the game was posted. The Warner Bros Games South Africa Instagram page posted the image of the announcement before it was quickly deleted.
Harry Potter Collection LeakSeeing the success of Hogwarts Legacy, a game that sold 15 million copies within weeks, TT Games is looking to capitalize on the success of the Harry Potter franchise and release its own LEGO collection. In the past, TT developed LEGO Harry Potter games, but now those games are well over a decade old. Look at the quality of the Skywalker Saga collection to see the potential of a modern LEGO game.
The August 25th date aligns with the Gamescom convention, which will take place between August 23rd and 27th, so an official announcement could take place then. The image above was likely posted prematurely and could be reposted in the next few days or weeks.
If this image is true, then an announcement for the game could come in just a couple of weeks. Despite years of controversies, the Harry Potter franchise is still strong, and millions are willing to buy a new Harry Potter game, especially after a nearly decade-long drought without any mainline AAA HP releases. We will wait and see if this announcement comes, however, a LEGO HP Collection is a no-brainer for TT Games.
