Between the end of September and the start of October, Tokyo Game Show 2021 will be held in Japan in which companies, such as Square Enix, Sega Corporation and Xbox Game Studios, will hold presentations highlighting their upcoming games. This year, we might get news from franchises like Final Fantasy and The King of Fighters. However, some new changes made to the official Tokyo Game Show 2021 shows that we may receive some important announcement regarding the Monster Hunter franchise from CAPCOM.
The CAPCOM ONLINE PROGRAM is scheduled to be held on Saturday at 10:00 P.M. JST and will showcase upcoming games from the company. Previously, the event on the website was titled, “TGS2021 CAPCOM ONLINE PROGRAM,” and the description read, “We will deliver the latest game information of CAPCOM.” However, earlier today, the event was renamed to, “TGS2021 CAPCOM ONLINE PROGRAM – MONSTER HUNTER SPOTLIGHT -,” and the new description now reads, “Catch up on the latest details of the newly announced Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, as well as news and updates for Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, courtesy of the development team.”
With this new change made to the website, there’s a high chance that we might not expect much from CAPCOM at Tokyo Game Show 2021 besides a new Monster Hunter instalment. The most recent Monster Hunter instalment, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, was released in June 2021 and CAPCOM will almost certainly be continuing its streak of releasing a new instalment to the franchise every year.
