Pokemon Scarlet/Violet Pre-Orders Top Charts

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet will kick off Generation 9 of Pokemon.

Some things on Earth are so widespread and popular that every person has heard of them. One of these things is the media franchise of Pokémon. It’s actually impossible not to know about this franchise if you don’t live under a rock. Pokémon just has so many popular forms of media that you can’t be unaware of it.

From cartoons to toys and video games to movies, the franchise is present everywhere. All of this popularity results in it being the highest-grossing media franchise of all time and there is a good reason for it.

The franchise consists of games, movies, anime, merchandise, and many more ventures. It is also one of the most iconic gaming names and one of the most iconic franchises involved with Nintendo.

In case you’re unfamiliar, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the upcoming 9th generation duo of games in the Pokemon video games franchise. The game was first announced in February 2022 and is slated for a November 18th, 2022 release, and people are really excited about it, as shown by sales charts.

Major Takeaways:

  • Pokemon Scarlet/Violet are dominating COMG! pre-order charts.
  • Their pre-order figures have reached the previous generation’s Pokemon BD/SP numbers, with still more than 6 weeks left till launch.

For those unaware, COMG! is a chain of video game stores in the Niigata prefecture of Japan. They have a really handy website that gets updated daily with the number of preorders received for the top 20 most preordered videogames. COMG! is used by VGChartz users as an indicator of how much interest a certain title generates in the Japanese territory.

Going by the sales figures for the pre-order figures for Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, Japanese fans are certainly excited.

As can be seen, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet is not only topping the pre-orders but decimating the competition, even leaving far behind popular and exhilarating re-releases such as Nier: Automata and Persona 5: Royal Switch editions, not to mention the much-anticipated release of Bayonetta 3.

The double pack, which includes both games, is also highly demanded and would certainly boost figures even further if accounted for individual titles.

Pokemon Scarlet/Violet has already reached figures equal to Pokemon BD/SP from the previous year, and with more than 6 weeks left till its November 19, 2022 release, the figures are certain to rise even further.

This will certainly kick off Generation 9 of Pokemon to a great start. The development has primarily remained in secrecy, but many features are already revealed.

The upcoming duo of games is massive and will feature AAA elements like its open-world structure. Moreover, rideable legendary Pokemons are also available in Koraidon and Miraidon.

The title has three diverse story paths that can be pursued, and the game is expected to incorporate more surprising elements. The upcoming trailer may reveal more shrouded features tomorrow. The Paldea region is enchanting to the eyes, and we get a lovely look at the places we will be able to discover in pursuit of Pokemons.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet revisits its old roots; it will revert to offering two distinct base versions of the same game. In other words, you will not be able to get a hold of every Pokemon just under one version of the title. Furthermore, your character’s costume will depend on which version you are playing.

The official website cites the open world, “Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet offer an open-world experience that only the Pokémon series can deliver—one welcoming even to newcomers to the series.” This innovative formula might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but most fans have lauded the open-world approach.

You can experience a new style of adventure, with a world that you’re” free to explore at your leisure and not in an order dictated by the story.” Despite going open world, the trainers will be free to traverse the lands for Pokemon at their own pace without worrying about a narrative forcing them to follow it.

It continues, “You will, of course, journey to hone your skills as a Pokémon Trainer, but many more discoveries and stories await you. Meet a variety of people and Pokémon, and adventure in the world of Pokémon the way you want to.”

Lastly, the game will also feature four-player multiplayer. However, we are unsure whether this will be for local or online multiplayer. This is also the first multiplayer mode in the series so the fans are highly excited.
