- According to Naughty Dog, PC gaming allows for modernizing players’ experience.
With a PC release of The Last of Us Part 1, Naughty Dog seems to be committed to developing more titles for PC. In celebrating the installment’s release, the developer shared its experience in making the game available for PC in a special feature on its website. It also showed further interest in developing more entries for PC and reassured players that they have something in store for them in the near future.
So, where will the next Naughty Dog development adventure take us? Rest assured, PlayStation and PC players, we’re already looking forward to sharing more, whether you prefer a DualSense controller or a keyboard and mouse. Developing for both platforms empowers us to incorporate lessons learned from either into the overall design of our games. Sharing our stories and experiences on PS5 as well as PC is something that Naughty Dog has embraced and will continue to support moving forward.
This means that we could get simultaneous PC releases instead of PlayStation exclusives from Naughty Dog, possibly. However, that is only speculative and has to be taken with a grain of salt. Furthermore, Naughty Dog shared that making The Last of Us Part 1 available for PC was certainly challenging and took “immense creative and technical undertaking.”
The developer further said that the title was designed so that players who play with a keyboard/mouse could enjoy the “same level of tactile and suspenseful gameplay console players already enjoy.” Previously, Naughty Dog released Unchartered: Legacy of Thieves for PC on October 19th, 2022. The title was appreciated by critics and received a score of 88% on Metacritic. While Unchartered didn’t sell as much, the developers are still motivated to make waves in PC gaming.
