The DualSense wireless controller for the PlayStation 5 was announced on April 7, 2020. The improvements were made on the feedback of developers and players.

The DualSense wireless controller for PS5 delivers natural haptic feedback2, dynamic adaptive triggers2 , motion sensors, and a built-in microphone, all blended into a comfortable and portable controller design. Although the new controller has not abandoned the prominent quirks of its predecessor. The DualSense maintains the same buttons as the DualShock 4.

However, the “Share” button was dubbed “Create” with added means for gamers to create and share content. The included speaker has also been improved in quality. The addition of a microphone permits users to communicate with each other without needing the help of an external headset. With the proliferation of microphones to the controller, Sony also integrated voice typing into the PS5. The surface of the controller unit is wrapped in minuscule versions of the four PlayStation button symbols (cross, circle, square, and triangle) as an easteregg.
