343 Industries Is Developing The Next Halo In-House, Confirms Job Listing

Amidst the rumors, 343 is gearing up on the production work of the next halo game.

                                                                       Story Highlights

  • 343 Industries confirms its role in future Halo development, dispelling reduced involvement rumors.
  • Rebs Gaming highlights that Halo content is produced in-house and by support studios.
  • John Junyszek reassures fans of their commitment to Halo, dismissing speculation about their role.

A new job listing from 343 Industries gave away a hint of the development of the next installment in the Halo franchise. There were rumors that 343 Industries was moving away from the series, but the developer officially denied the word on the street twice since January.

Rebs Gaming, a trusted insider on his X account, brought the attention to the job listing by stating “A new 343 Industries job listing directly confirms that content for future Halo games is being produced in-house by 343 and outsourced to support studios. This dispels the recent rumor that 343 is outsourcing all production work.”

These rumors coupled with ignorant journalism have caused damage to the reputation of the company, even though John Junyszek, the Senior Community Manager at 343, had previously addressed the rumors suggesting the developer’s diminished role in upcoming Halo titles.

343 Has Outsourced Parts Of Halo’s Production In The Past As Well

Responding to a post questioning the rumor’s validity, he emphatically stated, “It has been – and always will be – wild out there.” This response effectively dispels any speculation about the reduced involvement of the longstanding Halo developer in future games.

343 has been outsourcing work since Halo 4 and it is not new news for a studio to utilize support studios. Xbox Game Studios hold summits where they exchange technology and processes to promote collaboration between studios. There have been several dozen of these specialized summits over the past years.

The previous entry in the series, Halo Infinite was released in 2021. Which was the most ambitious title in the series. From a narrative perspective, the game was a letdown but overall it got good reviews. These rumors are very exciting and we hope that this time they fill the voids left by the previous title.
