NEO: The World Ends with You, known in Japan as NEO: It’s a Wonderful World (新すばらしきこのせかい Shin Subarashiki Kono Sekai), is the second entry in The World Ends with You franchise and acts as a sequel to The World Ends with You.
It is created by Square Enix with assistance from h.a.n.d. On July 27, 2021, it was made available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. On September 28, 2021, it became available for PC users only through the Epic Games Store.
A youngster named Rindo Kanade and his friend Fret is the story’s main characters. They are made to play a deadly game known as the Reapers’ Game in which failing to fulfill daily assignments will result in their death and erasure from existence. Along the journey, they come across other Players engaged in frenetic team versus team battle as they struggle to survive.
On October 18, 2022, according to Redditor Makusensu, Green Man Gaming is said to have shared NEO: The World Ends With You for Steam. The Redditor has a screenshot of the Steam update.
The following snapshot may have been taken when Green Man Gaming shared the NEO Steam version:
The Steam version is later taken down from Green Man Gaming’s website because it says “game is no longer available” when you use the purchase URL GMG provided.

Regarding Green Man Gaming’s alleged leak of NEO: The World Ends With You for Steam, there were a lot of unanswered questions that either GMG mistakenly shared or that it was specifically in the works.
On October 19, 2022, about a day after GMG’s release, Square Enix officially releases the NEO: The World Ends With You on Steam and we can consider Green Man Gaming a credible source of gaming leaks for now.
Go through the official game trailer here:
Green Man Gaming has had such scandals in the past. In September, GMG leaked Octopath Traveler 2 and Triangle Strategy coming to Steam a few hours before the official announcements. That is possibly why NEO: The World Ends With You too has a chance to hop on Steam.
Also the first game, The World Ends With You, a Nintendo DS game hailed for its originality and flair, debuted there about 14 years ago. The undeniable draw of touring Shibuya, Tokyo, along with electrifying music and a thrilling battle system that used the DS’ touchscreen, made it a compelling game. There was nothing like it on the market.
On the other hand, its sequel, NEO: The World Ends With You failed to meet the expectations.
Neo: The World Ends With You didn’t make the same splashy debut; instead, it is content to be built on the positive aspects and even some of the negative ones of the original game. That results in a still interesting and entertaining experience, but it doesn’t leave a lasting impact like the original.
Yosuke Matsuda, president of Square Enix, was quoted as saying “While NEO: The World Ends With You was favorably welcomed by users, it has underperformed our initial expectations” around the game’s release.
On the plus side, there is still a lot of anticipation for the game’s release on Steam. Will you be purchasing NEO: The World Ends With You, then? Do let us know in the comments section below.
