The humble legacy of Creative Assembly began in the late 80s, and the team eventually expanded to become among the most influential game studios. The company worked under Electronic Arts and later got acquired by SEGA to become its European face. CA now stands as one of Sega’s best-performing studios outside of Japan.
The developers have produced some memorable titles in the industry, such as the highly-famed Total War series, Alien Isolation, and Hyenas, among others. However, the studio is now under fire due to serious allegations that have come forward in the past. Creative Assembly has issued an official response in regard to the claims.
Major Takeaway:
- Various current and former Creative Assembly employees have come forward with allegations of abuse and sexual misconduct.
- Creative Assembly has issued an official statement to respond to the weighty allegations against a former CA employee.
- The team has shown sympathy to the affected and is asking the victims to reach out to the CA team via email.
- The game studio has launched an investigation to examine the matter through an external party.
Many former and current employees of the Creative Assembly company have come forward with grave claims like abuse and sexual misconduct. One individual, Bal Singh, is determined to be the main offender by the former and current employees, a former Creative Assembly member that left the company around 11 months ago.
Seeing a bunch of back channel stuff about abuse and sexual assault from current and former Creative Assembly team members, and people afraid to speak out
Since I have no skin in this game: several folks I know have outed Baj Singh as a main culprit of abuse and coverupsp

The supposed culprit was the Lead Character Artist and Project Art Director for Total War: Warhammer in the past, who is now self-employed as a freelancer. Creative Assembly is now investigating the matter thoroughly with the help of an external party to understand the situation better. The complete statement is noted below:
“We have been made aware of deeply concerning and serious allegations regarding a former CA employee. We recognize how important, and often difficult, it is for individuals to speak up about these experiences – and we welcome those who feel able to do so,” The reply matches the employees’ testimony.
It continues, “We are dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment for our people, and ensuring they are heard. It is clear we need to do better. We are investigating this matter through an external party to fully understand what happened.”

In another tweet, Creative Assembly also cited the following, “If you are a former CA employee and feel able to share your experiences in support of our investigation, please reach out whistle.blowing@creative-assembly.com.” CA insists the victims contact the team and reveal everything in the aforesaid email.
SEGA has not made any responses at the time of writing. Time will reveal how the situation unfolds and what appropriate action is taken against the culprit. The community has reacted positively to the team for taking action, but some people have shown distaste for waiting for such a long time before starting the investigation.
