Halo 2 Remake Teased In Halo: Campaign Evolved Secret Ending

According to the Halo: Campaign Evolved secret ending, the additional sequence includes the rather deliberate line, “See you in the sequel.” Given where Combat Evolved sits in the series, there is not much room for ambiguity here.

Halo has spent years trying to rediscover its footing, even though Halo Infinite delivered an impressive return for Master Chief. Rebuilding the original trilogy could now be one part of the franchise’s broader path forward.

The Secret Ending Is More Than A Casual Reference

A sequel tease inside a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved naturally points toward Halo 2, although it is important to stress that a post-credits hint is not the same thing as an announcement.

Halo 2 already received a substantial visual overhaul through Halo 2: Anniversary, so another version would need to offer more than cleaner textures and upgraded cinematics. A full remake could rebuild campaign encounters, modernize controls, revise level design, and bring the sequel in line with Campaign Evolved’s presentation.

It would also give Halo Studios an opportunity to revisit multiplayer maps tied closely to the original trilogy. The franchise has already leaned into that nostalgia through additions such as Halo 3’s The Pit coming to Halo Infinite.

The audience is certainly there. Halo Infinite surpassed 30 million players, demonstrating the franchise’s continued reach despite its uneven recent history.

For now, players should treat the ending as an intentional hint rather than official confirmation. Still, “See you in the sequel” is about as direct as a tease can get without putting Halo 2 Remake across the screen.
