Draw Distance is the developer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York and several other enticing indie projects. The studio’s last published work is Serial Cleaners, but apparently, the Polish developer is cooking up something else as well.
According to Riana Moller, a Denmark-based Art Director, Draw Distance has an unannounced project that they’re currently hard at work on. The artist has shared a trio of photos from this upcoming title that have been described to be made with Unreal Engine.
Giving off a dystopian vibe, the uploaded images seem to strike the difference between the different living classes. The rich, powerful, and famous get to walk down red carpets while the ones with little to no social presence get to stay back in the shadows.
The Rundown:
- Riana Moller, an Art Director with a profile on ArtStation has shared three particular images that seem to talk about Draw Distance’s upcoming unannounced project.
- Some of Draw Distance’s finest works revolve around the Vampire: The Masquerade series, but not in the way you’d expect. Both Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York and Vampire: The Masquerade – Shadows of New York are visual novel video game titles and far from the concept of real-time shooting and gunning.
- The uploaded photos of this unannounced game highlight the disparities in class, whether you belong to a working-class household or the rich elite. No other information has been shared as of yet.
Riana Moller—an Art Director—has taken to ArtStation to upload the images in question. They’ve given the title “Isometric-ish Gloom and Doom” to the trio of images that have come out in the open. Apparently, there’s a good reason why the pictures have been named that way. Take a look at one of these below and tell us what you think.
Here’s what the description of the uploaded post reads,
A gloomy street view highlighting class disparities for an unannounced project at Drawn Distance. Made with Unreal Engine and then overpainted for the sake of concepting out the finer details.”
Do note that there’s an error in that description. Riana has written the name of the developer as “Drawn Distance” where the correct terminology is exempt from the “n” at the end of “Draw.”
Three different photos have been taken of the scene and two of them concentrate on the same area with the only difference being the magnification of the images.
Sadness, gloom, and depression seem to be sinking into these photos. Yikes to us for getting to play a game that would be this emotionally challenging in the not-so-distance future.
If you head over to the Draw Distance official website, you’ll find no news on any upcoming project yet. Perhaps, this is something that they’ve postponed for some time now. Whatever the case, here was our first look at this unannounced project by the critically acclaimed Serial Cleaners developer.
