Helldivers 2 Dev Promises To Constantly Add More Content For Free

That includes enemies, objectives, biomes, and more.

Story Highlights

  • Helldivers 2 is an up-and-coming third-person action shooter by developer Arrowhead Game Studios.
  • The Chief Executive Visionary of the title recently spoke up about the game’s post-launch support.
  • The shooter is set to receive a bevy of additional content for free, including added biomes, and more.

I’m really looking forward to what Arrowhead Game Studios has in store for Helldivers 2 hands-on-wise. The game looks quite fun from as far as one can tell gauging all the trailers the developer has put out so far, but we’ll know for sure how true that stands once the third-person shooter is finally out. Taking to Discord, an Arrowhead executive has spoken up about what the game’s post-launch scene looks like, and it seems that certain promises are being made.

Going by the username of Pilestedt, who is actually the Chief Executive Visionary of Creative & Business Strategy at Arrowhead, the studio representative says that players can expect to look out for more content flowing to Helldivers 2 over the course of its release in the name of enemies, objectives, biomes, and other stuff. But the cherry on top?

All of that is going to be free, making us wonder how the devs even plan on monetizing the live service shooter. Pilestedt doesn’t stop at that statement, though. They go on to highlight their previous message and continue with the following words, hinting at exciting new content for Helldivers 2 that Arrowhead may shed better light on in the time to come.

You should see the new stuff the team is working on.”

Speaking of new stuff, Arrowhead recently showed off a swath of DLC goodies for Helldivers 2 in a new trailer, showing off a Warbond, which the game likes to refer to as its Battle Pass, along with special weapons, skins, and armor sets. Pair all the aesthetic stuff with the game’s most stand-out features, including Galactic War, and you’ve got yourself a real treat to look forward to if executed right, that is.

Helldivers 2 is looking forward to a February 8, 2024, release date for the PlayStation 5 and PC, with no port planned for the Xbox Series X|S just yet. The title’s PC specifications are out as well, should you choose to confirm if your setup fits the bill or not. Arrowhead announced the game itself during last year’s PlayStation Showcase, when a number of other projects were unveiled for the first time as well.
