Helldivers 2 PC Specs, Features, And Crossplay Details Unveiled

The newly released trailer sports a showcase of the game's all-out war, controller input choice, and more.

Story Highlights

  • Helldivers 2 is a multiplayer-focused third-person shooter by Arrowhead Game Studios.
  • The title is coming out early next month, and the devs have released a new trailer for it.
  • Expect cross-platform functionality, both mouse and keyboard support, and more from Helldivers 2.

I’ll be honest, I’m fairly pumped for what Helldivers has to offer when it finally launches early next month. Up until now, the game seems to be indicative of pure fun, but there’s only so much to confirm from a visual standpoint in place of a practical one. To give players a hint of what to expect from the title in February, a new PC Features Trailer for Helldivers 2 has been pushed out, and it’s feisty.

Accompanying the 1-and-a-half-minute trailer is an official post on the PlayStation Blog as well that goes into a lot of details surrounding the third-person shooter. For starters, the Community Manager at Arrowhead Game Studios — the developer studio — Katherine Baskin has declared open-ended crossplay between PlayStation 5 and PC players, so both of these groups can play together effortlessly.

We know it’s been a long wait but it’s finally time to reveal more about the PC release of Helldivers 2. We know what’s on your mind, first and foremost: Is it crossplay?

And we’re pleased to announce that Helldivers 2 supports crossplay! That means your teammates on PC can play with you on PS5 and vice versa. Community and teamwork are the most important pillars of Helldivers 2, and so it is essential to ensure players can work together regardless of the system they choose to use,” says Katherine.

Moving ahead, you’ve also got the PC specifications requirement sheet popping up on the blog, so make sure to go through the hardware prerequisites and figure out whether your PC is able to handle the heat or not. From the looks of it, the minimum end isn’t a lot to take in, so the vast majority of PC players might be able to handle Helldivers 2 just fine. On the other hand, there’s the beef that your PC requires if you plan on playing the shooter at the highest possible settings:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4
  • Storage:100 GB SSD

As part of this announcement, we’re also finally able to provide you with the minimum, recommended, performance, and ultra system specifications for PC players to ensure that no matter what kind of equipment your squad uses to play – PS5 or PC with a broad range of supported PC hardware – you’ll be able to spread Managed Democracy together.”

Helldivers 2 will launch for the PlayStation 5 and PC exclusively on February 8, 2024. The game traces its initial announcement by the developers back to December 2020, when Arrowhead announced that it was working toward a next-gen, co-op-oriented multiplayer title.
