The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Rated For PS5 And XSX|S

Released by CD Projekt RED back in May 2015, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still one of the most memorable RPGs to have ever come out. Even after years since its release, the game receives an average of 20,000 active players every month on Steam alone. Now, we’ve finally received some confirmation for the game’s release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, as its next-generation versions get rated in Europe.

In July, CD Projekt RED announced that next-generation versions for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would be released later this year. However, not much information was given besides this. Earlier today, the game was rated for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on the European video game content rating website, Pan European Game Information (PEGI).

Usually, games receive age ratings from such systems when they’re close to releasing, which means that the next-generation versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hint may be coming out in a few weeks from now. We’re not certain what these new versions will bring to the game. However, we do know that it will feature faster loading times and ray-tracing, alongside some visual quality enhancements. It was also revealed in July that the next-generated versions of the game may also feature some community-made PC mods, too.

“Developed to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware, the next-gen edition of the game will feature a range of visual and technical improvements — including ray tracing and faster loading times — across the base game, both expansions, and all extra content”, told CD Projekt RED when it announced the next-generation versions of the game in September 2020.

The next-generation versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be a standalone purchase for players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while players on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can update it to the next-generation versions for free if they already own it.
