Halo Infinite Concurrent Players Down By Over 60% On PC

The number of concurrent players in Halo Infinite decreases by more than 60% in under a month since release on Steam.

After many rumours regarding the release date, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer was unexpectedly released on 15th November during the Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebration event and managed to gain over 250,000 concurrent players in only a couple of days since release. Of course, the game’s free-to-play, so it would only make sense for so many players wanting to play it. However, barely a month into the game’s release, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has lost more than half of its concurrent players on Steam, on PC.

According to the numbers on Steam Charts, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer, at the time of writing, sits slightly over 90,000 concurrent players. Now, these numbers are, of course, for Steam only and the game is available on the Microsoft Store and Xbox consoles, too. However, considering that Steam is the primary choice for most PC players, these numbers can be used as a suggestion for the decline in the number of concurrent players for the game on PC.

According to SteamDB, Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is currently #32 as the most played game on Steam. While the game still has mostly positive reviews (with more than 95,000 positive reviews), this does raise some concerns as to what went wrong with the game to lose such a significant number of concurrent players in only a few weeks since its release.

Obviously, it can be reasoned that the game is still in its beta version. However, with more than 150,000 concurrent players suddenly not playing the game, there’s certainly something that’s wrong and 343 Industries should investigate this matter. It seems like the company is very active when it comes to updates for Halo Infinite, so it’s clear that the game will continue to improve as it moves from its beta version.
