Disney Puts A Number On Marvel Rivals’ Community
In a feature published on its official newsroom, Disney confirmed that Marvel Rivals now supports the largest Discord community in gaming, with more than 4.4 million members. That figure came alongside a broader look at Disney’s gaming strategy from Sean Shoptaw, EVP of Global Games and Digital Entertainment, who pointed to Marvel Rivals as a clear example of games becoming a primary way younger audiences discover Disney’s characters in the first place.
“These are platforms where Gen Z [and] Gen Alpha primarily are spending a lot of their time, hanging out with their friends,” Shoptaw said.
“It’s a really good example of just how powerful and meaningful these worlds can be.”
Disney says Marvel Rivals has now reached 40 million players worldwide, with 60% of them under the age of 24, and generated more than 285 million Twitch viewing hours over the course of 2025.
A Community That Keeps Growing

A Discord community of that size puts Marvel Rivals ahead of most other live-service games as a hub for player discussion, patch feedback, and matchmaking outside the game itself, and it lines up with how actively NetEase has kept the game in the conversation since launch.
Recent updates like Season 9.5’s roughly 40GB PC install size reduction and new hero reveals, including WWE’s Damian Priest voicing The Hood, give a community that size a steady stream of things to talk about and dig into.
Marvel Rivals’ community strength also fits into Disney’s larger gaming push, which the company says has driven an estimated $3.5 billion or more in annual consumer spending for four straight years, crossing $4 billion this past fiscal year. Disney is leaning on that momentum for its newer bets too, including Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls and the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, arriving in September.
