The inception of Cyberpunk 2077 led to a domino effect of disasters for the CD Projekt RED. The release was shaky, promises were broken, features were missing, and bugs were rampant; the open world failed to be what it was envisioned.
Cyberpunk 2077 featured a fantastic story and memorable characters which could be experienced in beefed-up gaming PCs. However, it was a nightmare for last-gen consoles where the game felt like features thrown together just before release.
The game brought arguably the worst launch for a AAA title, but Cyberpunk 2077 never truly withered away as a failure. The title eventually pulled through, and developers have updated the game with new content and DLCs that has made the game closer to the imagined product.
Cyberpunk 2077 slowly rose through the ranks and is quite polished for next-generation consoles. The title still has a long way to go but is headed in the right direction. Modders, on the other hand, are improving the experience by enhancing the very foundations of Cyberpunk 2077.
Modders are the caretakers of a game in the community as they keep the title breathing by adding and improving upon features even after developers have moved on. This time, modders have found a way to incorporate AMD FSR 2.0 into Cyberpunk 2077. It is the perfect upgrade for gamers who no longer have to rely on AMD FSR 1.0.
This mod is ideal for owners of NVIDIA GPUs that do not support DLSS. The modder, PotatoOfDoom1337, has uncovered a method to substitute NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 files with AMD FSR 2.0. It is worth mentioning that the game may get official AMD FSR 2.0 support down the road, as it runs on AMD FSR 1.0 for now.
Interesting, DLSS dll can be replaced with FSR 2.0, and works quite well. Some ghosting in CP2077 whilst driving remains though.https://t.co/tO4B6PjII9

The alluring mod claims to produce double the framerate for the GeForce GTX 1080 at 4K resolution. Cyberpunk 2077 now runs at 45 FPS, as exclaimed by the modder. The screenshots shared by the modder unveil the incredible enhancements of AMD FSR 2.0 compared to AMD FSR 1.0. There are apparent differences between both technologies.
AMD FSR 1.0, the default incorporated technology does not look great in quality with bad resolution and worse sharpening applied. Meanwhile, AMD FSR 2.0 wholly upgrades the resolution with less blur and more apparent writings in the background.
It will be an absolute game-changer if AMD FSR 2.0 can be modded into games that support NVIDIA DLSS 2.0. There are massive improvements in quality. The developer cited in the FAQ, “Yes, any game that uses DLSS 2.0 should work with this technique (after a bit of work).”
The mod is compatible with any AMD, Intel, and NVIDA GPU that can bear Cyberpunk 2077. The mod is available to be downloaded on Nexus Mods, where you can also read all the technical particulars regarding how it works alongside the method to install the mod.
Furthermore, the mod is still in development to test out the capabilities, so bugs are expected. The modder cited some known issues, “Changing certain graphics settings break this mod. The game should work again after you restart it,” and, “You might experience some ghosting when using animated in-game screens or if you are driving a vehicle. I am aware of this, and I am trying my best to fix this. Stay tuned.”
The modder also pointed out that they could not implement all the quirks of AMD FSR 2.0, otherwise the quality would have been much better. We can expect the official integration of AMD FSR 2.0 to look even cleaner when its implemented.
