Here Are Some Great Picks From Nintendo’s Publisher Sale That You Should Check Out

Monster Hunter Rise is going for a tenner right now.

Story Highlights

  • The Nintendo eShop is currently running a site-wide promotion that discounts an array of titles.
  • Multiple devs and publishers, including Capcom and Warner Bros. Games, have joined in.
  • Out of all the titles that have been treated to a price cut, some are very well worth picking up.

Nintendo doesn’t shy away from putting big discounts on big releases. Last month, the Partner Spotlight Sale racked up a nice collection of promoted prices, and now, as we’re entering May, the Japanese industry giant has brought more treats for potential buyers. As I was going through the catalog of these games myself, I spotted quite a few deals that are worth looking into, especially the ones that are on recently released titles.

Terrific Titles Worth Picking Up On A Discount

I’ve put together a list of games that I believe are available at a price that are way below what they’re actually worth. Feel free to disagree and put up a fight in the comments section, or perhaps, tell me about some of the gems you’ve managed to spot.

1. Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown

As far as Metroidvanias go, Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown has unexpectedly established itself as one of the most fun games belonging to the genre. It may seem as if the franchise has departed from its usual third-person narrative action, but that’s not quite it. Ubisoft is developing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake on the side, so best to try out this one as well at $29.99 while you can.

2. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen

Although the gaming world is currently hooked on Dragon’s Dogma 2, the sequel to the first Dragon’s Dogma from 2012, don’t let that distract you from the fact that a revamped version of Dragon’s Dogma is available for sale at $4.99. If nothing else, it’s a great way to realize how far Capcom has come after all these years, getting the second mainline title in the franchise on a new level.

3. Nier: Automata

Nier: Automata quenches my thirst for an action-adventure RPG like no other, I’ll tell you that. Everything from the soundtrack and the world design to the characters and the gameplay is just phenomenal about this game, and quite fortuitously, the title runs great on the Switch as well. The End of YoRHA Edition of the title is currently on sale, which means you get the 3C3C1D119440927 DLC, multiple costumes, and colosseums alongside your purchase as well.

4. Resident Evil 4 (2005)

Since the 2023 remake of this iconic classic isn’t available on the Switch — and honestly never will be unless there are plans in motion for the Switch 2 concerning it — going with the OG means never going wrong. The 2005-released Resident Evil 4 is timeless by every stretch of the word, featuring tight gameplay, a great story, and just breathtaking atmosphere that grips you in like no other.

5. Hogwarts Legacy

You’re in for quite the treat in case you happen to be a fan of the Harry Potter franchise. Being one, I took great pleasure in exploring every corner of the Hogwarts castle, thanks to Avalanche Software going all in on the world design aspect. While there are no characters from the Harry Potter movies we’ve seen, the RPG at hand features a story that stands well on its own.

Hogwarts Legacy has sold more than 24 million units globally and ended last year like a boss as the UK’s biggest physical release. The nostalgia factor is something to consider here, though, but even if you don’t know a thing about Harry Potter, the game’s take on the Wizarding World and the way it carries out its execution is nothing to sleep on

On a side note, if you’d like a Harry Potter game instead, Nintendo happens to have the Lego Harry Potter Collection on sale for $9.99 as well at the time of writing.

6. Monster Hunter Rise

Capcom’s Monster Hunter Rise is going off for a tenner right on the Nintendo eShop, and if you’re a fan of MMORPGs, don’t waste a second more and get this. There are no performance issues or anything of the sort to worry about because Rise launched on the Switch first and then went to other platforms, bringing gameplay enhancements in its wake and thereby improving the mechanics of the franchise as a whole.

7. Final Fantasy 7 Remastered

While Switch users will have to sit it out when it comes to the remade Final Fantasy 7 games, the remastered variant of the original title is nothing to take lightly. Coming in at about $7.99 thanks to the sale Nintendo has gotten going for itself, Final Fantasy 7 Remastered is going to give you one heck of a feel of a classic RPG, built with authenticity in mind.

A fantastic storyline, enticing gameplay, and terrific art direction are some of the strongest selling points of this one.

8. Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered

There was a time when the Assassin’s Creed franchise had little to no haters; when everyone seemingly loved what this stealth-focused action-packed series had to offer. Assassin’s Creed 3 is from that time, featuring such a vibrant, alive world, with great gameplay mechanics, an entertaining story, and so much to experience in terms of sheer content. It’s coming for just some cents shy of $15.

An easy recommendation.
