In the recent 1.6 Update, Cyberpunk 2077 has introduced multiple tweaks and additions. Some of these are in reference to the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime series, while others just add a bit more to the gameplay. Apart from that, CD Projekt Red has also fixed many issues in the game.

The update brought good changes, which led to a storm of players hopping back to Cyberpunk 2077. May it be the hype attached to the anime or just the curiosity of checking out the new stuff in the game. Regardless of the reason, it’s good to see Cyberpunk 2077 getting some much-needed attention.

On that note, let us now go through the Cyberpunk 2077 All Changes in Edgerunner Update.

Wardrobe

One of the most awaited changes has finally arrived in update 1.6 of Cyberpunk 2077. Since the release of the game, players have been unable to drip out their character fully. Everyone aimed for the equipment which offered the best armor in the game which led to players looking like actual clowns in the Night City. This is why players went through a pretty underwhelming wardrobe experience in Cyberpunk 2077.

However, in the recent Edgerunners update, players can now create 6 different outfit presets in the wardrobe section. These outfit preset won’t change the armor stats of V. So now you can set up at most six different looks for V while retaining all the needed stats in the game.

You can create these outfits in V’s apartment while playing Cyberpunk 2077. When you set up your outfits, you can then switch your look through your inventory menu.

New Gigs

With the new update comes a few new side missions in Cyberpunk 2077. Life in Night City never takes a break, V is almost up to something at all times, and with the recent Edgerunners update, his work has expanded even more. Gigs are optional side missions in Cyberpunk 2077 that the player does for his clients or fixers.

In return for these new gigs in Edgerunners update, you will receive experience, eddies, and street cred. So keep an eye out for these gigs and complete them as soon as the fixers reach out to you!

With that said, here are the 3 Gigs that were introduced in the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunner Update. The first gig is called ‘Concrete Cage Trap‘, which is an SOS side mission located in Kabuki. Regina will reach out to you for the SOS gig.

The second gig is called ‘Desperate Measures‘, which is a Thievery side mission found in Arroyo. El Capitan will get in touch with you to feed you some more details on it. Lastly, Cyberpunk 2077 has also introduced ‘Nasty Hangover,‘ a new Search and Recover gig hosted by Rogue in Arroyo.

New Weapons in Cyberpunk 2077

Despite all the glitches and flaws Cyberpunk 2077 had since its launch, the weapons were always fun to use. We all know the story was amazing, and the range of weapons in the game just added that extra punch to it. From time to time, Cyberpunk 2077 has added a few new items to the game that has enhanced the diversity in the game.

With the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunner update, the game adds even more to that factor. The game has now introduced six new guns in the game along with five melee weapons. So let us now quickly go through these new additions to V’s armory.

Edgerunner References

References to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Anime

Of course, since the update is inspired by Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, it has a lot of references to the show. If you’ve watched the show, then you’ll frequently notice some major and subtle references to the Netflix show. CD Projekt Red has also introduced multiple gear items from the show that you can acquire.

Keep your eyes peeled, and you might get to see stuff like David’s Apartment, Kiwi’s Apartment, David’s Ripper Doc, Turbo Bar, Chop Shop, and many more. For those of you who don’t know, these locations feature in the Cyberpunk Anime series.

You can also get your hands on some very cool stuff from the show, which includes David’s Jacket, Afterlife Drink, and Rebecca‘s Shotgun.

Cross-Progression Feature

CD Projekt Red has also implemented the Cross-progression feature in Cyberpunk 2077. Therefore, in Update 1.6, you can finally save your game’s progress on the cloud. You can then easily transfer your saved files between various platforms.

If you’re a PC player, you will be able to experience V on your gaming consoles (PS or Xbox) as well now. This is a great feature since players can now take their progress elsewhere, where the game might perform better than it did before. Apart from that, the feature is also useful because you can continue enhancing your progress even if one of your consoles/platforms is unavailable.

There aren’t any strings attached to the Cross-progression system. Cyberpunk 2077 saves the game files automatically to the cloud, and if you’re on your PS4 and want to play it on your PC. Just log into the game with the same account, and in the ‘Load Game’ section, you will notice your PS4 save file as well.

New Arcade Mini Game

Roach Race

Nothing extraordinary but little things like these makes the world a lot more immersive, which was something we always expected from Cyberpunk 2077. Now 2 years onwards, the game seems to have learned a bit. With that said, their third change in the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunner Update is the introduction of ‘Roach Race.’

While roaming around Night City, you may have noticed an arcade game that has a horse running across the screen. You can now finally interact with it and play it as V. Some of you may already know who Roach is. He is the beloved horse of our all-time favorite Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher games. Therefore, the arcade doesn’t only provide a mini-game but also has a Witcher easter egg in Night City.

The arcade mini-game is quite straightforward, and you’re in control of Roach, who’s wildling running across the screen. Your task is to maintain a safe distance from Geralt and run as fast as you can while eating apples. If you somehow manage to register your spot in the in-game leaderboard, then you will also get some potential prizes.

As we said, it isn’t a big change in update 1.6, but it does a good job of making Night City seem more immersive and lively.

Take Pictures With Nibbles

Photo mode is always fun in RPGs, especially when the game is set in a futuristic place like Night City. Cyberpunk fans would be fully aware of who Nibbles is. Nibbles is a pet cat that V can get in the game. When you do get Nibbles, you can then take photos with him, which is a cool addition to the new Edgerunners update.

It is important to note that you can only do this after you’ve made Nibbles your pet in Cyberpunk 2077. Once you do that, open up the photo mode in the game and scroll to the ‘Poses‘ option. From here, choose the ‘Character‘ option and then choose Nibbles to add him to your photograph.

Sleep Timer

Many RPGs feature a specific time setting option to decide how long their place sleeps/rests for. The reason behind this is to get a more immersive experience from the game; on top of that, it also works as an easy method to skip time. Some players enjoy activities in Night City during the daytime, while others like to go out at night.

Regardless of your preference, you can now finally choose the sleep time for V. This is a common feature in many other games. However, it’s nice to see the small addition to Cyberpunk 2077 in its latest update.

Xbox Series S Performance Mode

Xbox Series S users can finally let out a sigh of relief because CD Projekt Red has finally included the Performance mode for the console. Performance mode allows users to play the game smoothly at a fixed rate of 60 FPS and doesn’t take a lot of power from the console.

Other platforms already had the performance mode option. However, the Xbox Series S players were barred from it until now. So, if you use the Xbox Series S, this is a great chance for you in Cyberpunk 2077.

As a fan of the game, I really enjoyed the new content and changes added, especially given that you could acquire easter eggs from the show in-game, such as David Martinez’s Iconic Yellow Jacket along with Rebbeca’s powerful Shotgun.
