If players want to enter the event, they first need to acquire a  Trials Passage by completing the House of the Wolves story. These Trials Passages are essential as they act as the player’s scorecard. Trials Passages can be obtained from Saint-XIV, in the Tower Hangar. Note that players need to achieve some valor and Crucible Kill Targets for the Passages to be available.

The Trials of Osiris constitutes on the Crucible Game Mode, Elimination. With two teams of players competing to bring the others down and win. Once all the enemy team’s players get eliminated, the surviving team are named victors, and one win is achieved. After each win, players get a reputation, which can be used to increase their reputation rank, increasing the quality of rewards they earn. The Higher the rank, the better the reward.

Trials this Week

The Latest Destiny 2 trials of Osiris kick off today, with Bungie confirming plans to make changes to the long-running crucible challenge in February. As of today, there are multiple reasons why you should visit and play Trials of Osiris. Otherwise, the Witch Queen DLC is nearing its launch and who knows players might not play this weekly event by then.

Why players should play Trials of Osiris

While we know the changes are being planned as part of the next expansion, that doesn’t mean you still can’t unlock some great Destiny 2 trials rewards this week. Today, the return of the trials was seen, and the regular rules were enforced without any mention of rule changes. However, the endgame goal would remain to unlock the endgame weapon of choice that Bungie has chosen to be the top prize.

Last week, the guardians were trying to hit the high mark trying to claim the Sola’s Scar Legendary depth sword. This week’s official trials rewards will start being revealed as the event progresses, right after 5 PM GMT. After this, it would be up to guardians to do the hard work as Bungie hardly ever provides clues beforehand.

The Changes

There are some changes that Bungie has made to its Trials of Osiris weekly event. Trials now boast a seven-win challenge, available from Saint-XIV, providing the adept flawless loot. Also, there are a few changes this time around. For starters, the reputation gain per match wins that you get by using a ticket is now increased. Secondly, the developers had previously stated to reduce the overall round time of Trials of Osiris to 90 seconds only; wow, talk about the heat you will get in less than two minutes.

Earning more reputation is always beneficial as a higher reputation is directly related to better rewards. Every week, the map in which the Trials of Osiris are fought on resets; this week, it’s the Javlin-4 map that players would be fighting in. Earning Reputation upgrades players’ Reputation Rank; at each Reputation Rank, there are different rewards that players can achieve by leveling up.

  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism (3)
  • Reputation Rank 10: Trials Weapon (Changes on every rank reset)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 16: Trials Weapon (Also changes on every rank reset)
  • Flawless Reward: Sola’s Scar (Legendary Sword) (best trials reward this week

Sola’s Scar

Players need to not lose a single match and win seven matches to get a Flawless reward. This may be hard, but it can be achieved with pure skill. If you are reasonably new in the game, passages can help you accomplish this nearly impossible goal.

There are a total of four passages. Passage of Ferocity comes into play when you win your third match. It grants players’ additional wins. Passage of Mercy forgives one loss per run, so players can have a chance not to lose their win streak.

Other than that, if you want to increase the Trials Rank points, then Passage of Wealth is the way to go. Lastly, Passage of Confidence Grants bonus rewards from the Flawless chest. Although it may not help achieve seven wins, it certainly does make the end reward worth it.

That is everything you need to know about trials rewards this week; if you think we missed something, please do let us know in the comments below. What is your favorite crucible event in Destiny 2? Please let us know in the comments below.
