Since Apex Legends’ release, players across all platforms have received messages like “Party Leader Quit” and “Party Not Ready.” Regardless if they’re playing in a party or queuing solo.
Apex Legends was released in early 2019 on the PC, PS4, and Xbox 1 as a free-to-play FPS battle-royale game. The game was stealth-dropped by Respawn Entertainment, and within just a week, it reached a player base of 25 million players. It has been 2 years since the game’s initial release and it is still one of the most played battle-royale games on the market.
How to Fix Apex Legend’s Party Leader Quit and Party Not Ready Errors
This guide will walk you through a few solutions that might help you fix Apex Legends’ “Party Leader Quit” and “Party Not Ready” errors and jump right back into the game.
Disable Origin In-Game
Origin In-Game is a feature that is notorious for causing a wide variety of problems in the games on Origin. We recommend that you always turn this option off since it could potentially be causing Apex Legends these two errors.
- Open the Origin Application, and go to the My Game Library tab on the left side of the window.
- Click on Apex Legend and select Game Properties from the popup menu after clicking on the Setting icon.
- Uncheck the Enable Origin in Game for Apex Legends option and press the save button. Launch Apex Legends to see if the error still occurs.
Restart the Game
The “Party Leader Quit” message can sometimes appear because the player has been AFK for a few minutes. Pressing the Continue button will bring you back to the pre-match screen and solve the issue. This message might also appear in-game sometimes. You can choose to ignore this message or restart the game completely. Close down Apex Legends and start it up again. Doing this might take some time but it can easily get rid of these errors.

Rejoin Party or Create your own Party
Apex Legend’s “Party Leader Quit” and “Party Not Ready” errors are sometimes the result of a bugged lobby. If you are in someone else’s lobby, leave the lobby and Rejoin again. If the errors still exist, then exit the lobby, create your own party and send out invites to your friends. After your friends join your new lobby, you can start matchmaking again.
Apex Legend’s “Party Leader Quit” and “Party Not Ready” messages result from server-based errors and can reappear at any time. We hope that these fixes will help you resolve the issues completely. If the errors still persist, you can contact EA Help for support.
