Allow Roblox Through Windows Firewall

Windows Firewall can sometimes flag and disable network access to sites or servers that are not in any way malicious. Similarly, it can block the connection to the Roblox Servers.

That is why I recommend allowing Roblox through the Windows Firewall so it doesn’t accidentally block the connection and cause the error to pop up. People online also found this helpful.

Clear Your DNS Cache

Sometimes, the cached information of the DNS (Domain Name System) can become corrupted, leading to unexpected behavior or connection problems. Clearing the cache removes these corrupted entries and allows your device to start fresh with clean information.

So Clearing your Cache could help when fixing Error Code 279 in Roblox.

  1. Press your Win key, type cmd, and press Enter.
  2. Once opened, type ipconfig /flushdns, and hit Enter.

Disable Your Adblocker Extension

If you are playing on a browser, having an Adblocker can sometimes interfere with your connection to the game servers. This is because the advertisements on the site are the source of income for both the developers of the game and Roblox itself. To disable or delete the Adblock extension, simply:

  1. Click on the three vertical dots on the top right of your browser.
  2. Go to Extensions and click on Manage Extensions.
