FF7 Rebirth: Best Tifa Build [Weapon, Abilities & Playstyle]
This build allowed me to deal massive health and stagger damage to the end-game enemies.
Tifa is the best melee fighter in FF7 Rebirth and can be used to dish out the maximum amount of health damage and great stagger damage. Once players equip Tifa with her best build and provide her with enough support from other party members, she can become a relentless beast.

The Best Build For Tifa
Here are the complete details of the entire build that I’ve set up for Tifa in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth:

My build focuses on increasing Tifa’s attack power to the maximum so she can deal high damage to most enemies and bosses. However, defense has been sacrificed just to get the highest possible attack rating. This means other party members should be well-equipped to support Tifa if she needs protection against strong attacks. I have, however, tried to boost her defense with the Materia setup.
- Maximum Melee Damage.
- High Stagger Damage.
- Strong Offensive Abilities.
- Buffed Blocks And Parries.
- Weak To Moderately-Strong Defense.
- Weak Long Range.
Best Weapons
The reason why I decided to choose the Jarngreipr as the main weapon for Tifa in my build is due to the balanced melee and magic damage that these gloves provide. Additionally, the ability that it comes with is really powerful to deal high damage to health in a staggered state.
If you want to get more attack damage by sacrificing magic damage, then you can also go with the Kaiser Knuckles as the main weapon. However, in my experience, the Jarngreipr was strong enough to easily beat most endgame bosses.
Best Armors
Hades Armlet provides good defense both against physical and magic attacks. But that is something most armor pieces provide. Hades Armlet also comes with 7 Materia slots, which is huge, and you can create 3 different Materia links in the slots as well. I was able to get good defense in addition to a great Materia setup by using the Hades Armlet for Tifa in FF7 Rebirth.
Best Accessories
Depending on your playstyle, you can choose the Supernatural Wristguards or the Survival Vest as your main accessory. However, for my best build, I recommend using the Supernatural Wristguards since these further boost the attack rating and increase the maximum damage Tifa deals with each hit.
If you want to prioritize defense over offense, then you can opt for the Survival Vest, which directly increases the physical defense stat, but I wouldn’t recommend it for my build since it directly affects the maximum damage Tifa can deal in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Best Abilities
Once you fill up your ATB gauge, you can use a character’s special abilities, which can either deal high health damage or high stagger damage during a combo. Each weapon also comes with its specific ability, which can also be unlocked to use with other weapons by filling up the said weapon’s proficiency bar.

- Uses of Unbridled Strength: This should be your go-to ability in every fight, and you should activate Unbridled Strength repeatedly to further increase the damage that Tifa deals.
- Uses of True Strike: Save the True Strike ability for when the enemy or boss gets staggered and then spam it to deal maximum health damage.
- Uses of Focused Strike: Use this ability to build up stagger quickly and then follow up with the True Strike ability once the boss or enemy gets staggered.
- Uses of Overpower: Overpower should be used in between combos to put enemies under pressure, so that their stagger bars can fill more quickly.
Synergy Abilities And Skills
Synergy Skills And Abilities are a new addition to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, allowing characters to pair up with their party members and unleash a strong attack. These attacks are really good for disrupting boss attacks and for finishing off a boss at low health. There are also defensive synergy abilities, including filling up your ATB gauge or getting protection from a partner.

- Uses of Synchro Cyclone: A good synergy ability that can interrupt a relentless boss combo or get the unlimited MP buff.
- Uses of Leaping Strikes: Leaping Strikes can be used to reach high hit points that are normally out of Tifa’s normal range in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
- Uses of Bestial Barrage: It is a really powerful combo that Tifa can initiate with the help of Red XIII, and it even increases the limit level, which is an amazing bonus.
Materia Setup
Materia can be used to provide stat buffs or to get upgrades for specific actions during combat. Most importantly, Materia allow the use of spells in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and you can also link two Materia with each other to enhance their effects. Creating the perfect Materia setup is an essential part of making a build.

As you can see, I’ve made sure to put some focus on Tifa’s defense in my Materia setup since the rest of my build already capitalizes on her offensive potential.
Playstyle Information
As I’ve mentioned, Tifa is a close-range DPS character whose gameplay style predominantly depends on melee attacks. She has the potential to deal high health damage and stagger damage. You’ll need to guard or dodge against attacks when playing as Tifa since you’ll always be at close range.
Each opening in a boss fight should be punished, and you should utilize Tifa’s ability to pressure the enemy. It will take some before you can master Tifa, but once you start incorporating her abilities mid-combos to strengthen your attacks, you will become unstoppable in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
My Take On Tifa’s Best Build
Tifa is my favorite character to play in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. As someone who likes melee movesets and perfect parries, I quickly fell in love with Tifa’s playstyle. Creating this best build took me a complete play-through, but I’ve developed something that will help players struggling to learn Tifa.
