FF7 Rebirth: Completing Whence Life Flows Side Quest
The Cosmo Canyon is home to many sidequests, but this one might be a tad bit trickier!
From Whence Life Flows is one of the many sidequests that can be completed in the Cosmo Canyon region of FF7 Rebirth. Players must first progress through the main story to make this side quest available, and it is recommended to obtain a Chocobo in Cosmo Canyon before starting the quest.
- From Whence Life Flows is a side quest that can be found on the Community Noticeboard in the Cosmo Village in FF7 Rebirth.
- It becomes available once players have progressed through Red XIII’s trials in the main story.
- The quest involves finding five lifesprings scattered across the Cosmo Canyon.
- Players can make this quest easier if they have already unlocked the Remnwave Towers in the region.
- The rewards that you get for completing the quest are worthwhile, especially for Cait Sith mains.
All Lifespring Locations In Cosmo Canyon
Here are the locations of all the lifesprings that you need to find in order to complete the From Whence Life Flows side quest:

Lifespring 1
- Location: The first lifespring can be found right next to the Dried Oasis Remnawave Tower, which is the third tower in this region. You can see the exact location in the image above.
- How To Enter: The entrance to the Lifespring will be locked, but a cutscene will start playing once you arrive at the location, and Bugenhagen will spawn in to unlock the door.
Lifespring 2
- Location: Both the second and third lifesprings are located near the Planetological Ruins area in Cosmo Canyon. You can find the second lifespring at the entrance of the ruins near the Crimson Earth Remnawave Tower, which is the second tower.
- How To Enter: Once you arrive at the location, you will encounter some enemies trying to destroy the barricade that’s protecting the lifespring. Quickly finish off these enemies to protect the barricade and then enter the lifespring.
Lifespring 3
- Location: After coming out of the room containing the second lifespring, keep running forward, and you will come across the entrance of the third lifespring. You can also use the fourth and sixth Remnawave Towers to pinpoint the location, as shown in the image above.
- How To Enter: Once again, I had to defeat the enemies here who were trying to destroy the barricade to enter the Lifespring.
Lifespring 4
- Location: The fourth lifespring is also pretty easy to locate since it is located right next to the Gliding Range Remnawave Tower, the fourth tower in the region, and the exact location is shown in the image above.
- How To Enter: This is the last lifespring where you’ll have to protect the barricade by killing the enemies. After dealing with the enemies here, you can enter the fourth lifespring.
Lifespring 5
- Location: The fifth and final lifespring is a bit tricky to access, and you really can’t reach it without a Chocobo. There is a mountain that you can find below the Gliding Range Remnawave Tower, which you’ll have to climb by gliding across huge gaps using your Chocobo.
- How To Enter: At the top, you’ll come across the entrance of the final lifespring, and here, you’ll have to fight three Threadspinner Chimera enemies. You can easily pressurize them using Tifa’s abilities and Ice spells.
Rewards
After finding the fifth lifespring and beating the Threadpsinner Chimera enemies, the From Whence Life Flows side quest will be complete. You will be rewarded with Fortunes Untold IV and Party EXP, and your relationship will deepen with Red XIII. Fortunes Untold IV will allow you to unlock more Skill Cores for Cait Sith since it rewards with more SP for Folio upgrades.
