To unlock the blocked Gateway to Muspelheim in God of War Ragnarok, you need to find Muspelheim Seeds. These seeds, split into two pieces, can be discovered in Svartalfheim, the Dwarven Realm. They grant you access to Muspelheim, where you can engage in combat trials to test your abilities.

The first seed is easy to obtain early in the game, while the second one requires some preparation and appears later in the story. These seeds enable you to participate in “The Crucible,” offering the best rewards and the most XP. The Crucible challenges resemble those from previous God of War games and can lead to unlocking powerful armor.

How To Obtain Muspelheim Seeds

You need both Halves of the seed to unlock the Firey Realm of Muspelheim. God of War Ragnarok introduces you to the seeds pretty early on in the game. You will have to play a side few quests that will lead to the location of the first side. Although accessing the Second Half of the Seed Won’t be so simple. You will have to get the Draupnir Spear for the second half of the seed. You get the Draupnir spear quite deep into the Storyline

Obtaining The First Muspelheim Seed 

To obtain the seed or get to the location of the seed you will have to do the first Side Quest. Completing the quest will unlock other Side Quests and will gain you access to the first Muspelheim Seed in God of War Ragnarok. The Side Quest also unlocks a bunch of other Quest Rewards so you definitely don’t want to miss out on that. Not only that, but you also get A Light Runic Attack and a Full Armor set, what more can you want?

Follow these steps:

1. Accept the Side Quest “Service Of Asgard”: This Side Quest is given to you by Raeb, a Dwarf you encounter while searching for Durlin in the main storyline. Raeb asks Kratos to destroy the old Mining Rigs that are polluting Svartalfhiem Bay.
2. Head to Modvitnir’s Rig: Your task is to destroy the Mining Rigs. Make your way to Modvitnir’s Rig, where Mimir had mistakenly placed these rigs in the water.
3. Destroy the Mining Rigs: Once you reach Modvitnir’s Rig, locate and destroy the Mining Rigs. This is the primary objective of the “Service Of Asgard” Side Quest.
4. Access the Legendary Chest: After completing the Side Quest and destroying the rigs, you’ll need to find the first half of the Muspelheim Seed. Look for a Legendary Chest while in the water.
5. Climb to the Top of the Rig: Use Kratos’s blades to launch yourself up to the base of the Rig. Climb to the top, where you’ll encounter a rotating target.
6. Rotate the Target: Hit the target with your thrown axe to make it rotate. This action will lower the metal door on the left side of the target.
7. Cross the Broken Bridge: Head behind the lowered metal door, and you’ll find a broken bridge. Leap across the gap in the bridge to reach the other side.
8. Parkour Across the Rig: As you move forward, you’ll come to a dead end. To continue, jump to the wooden planks on the left side of the Rig.
9. Climb the Planks: Continue moving left and climb the wooden planks until you reach the top of the Rig.
10. Open the Legendary Chest: At the top of the Rig, you’ll find the Legendary Chest containing the first half of the Muspelheim Seed.

Obtaining The Second Muspelheim Seed

The second half of the Muspelhiem Seed is also in the same area. However, you can not access the location of the Seed Until You have the Spear. To Get the spear you will have to play the Main Stroy and progress in the storyline. You won’t have to do anything extra to get the spear. The game gives it to you normally as you go along. So just sit back, relax, and enjoy the game.

1. Progress in the Main Story: You cannot access the location of the second Muspelheim Seed until you have the Draupnir Spear, which is obtained as part of the main quest “Forging Destiny.” Play through the main storyline until you obtain this spear.
2. Obtain the Draupnir Spear: Once you have the Draupnir Spear, return to this guide to continue with obtaining the second Muspelheim Seed. Note that the spear is given to you as part of the main quest and does not require any additional actions.
3. Head to Dragon Beach: As part of the “Spirit of Rebellion” side quest, head to Dragon Beach.
4. Find the Gigantic Dwarf Statue: Locate the gigantic Dwarf statue in the area.
5. Climb the Golden Chain: Look for a Golden Chain on your left and use it to climb up to a platform.
6. Plug the Hole with the Spear: On the platform, find a hole in one of the wooden pillars emitting air. Use your Draupnir Spear to plug this hole.
7. Climb to the Next Platform: Use your spear to climb up to the next platform.
8. Start a Favor: Interact with the spirit on this platform to start a favor.
9. Defeat the Enemies: Defeat the enemies that appear as part of the favor.
10. Proceed Towards the Dwarf Statue: Move towards the hammer of the Dwarf statue.
11. Find the Tunnel: Look to the left and find a tunnel under a giant rock.
12. Collect the Glowing Rumble: Inside the tunnel, collect the Glowing Rumble.
13. Reveal the Legendary Chest: Continue through the tunnel until you find a vase with a fireball on top. Toss the fireball onto the glowing rumble to reveal a legendary chest.
14. Open the Legendary Chest: Open the chest to obtain the Second Half of the Muspelheim Seed.

Using The Muspelheim Seeds

Now that you have obtained both pieces of the Muspelhiem Seed you can use them to access the Muspelheim Realm. To use them you will have to locate a Mystical Gateway and you will be able to unlock the Muspelheim.

It’s not really smooth sailing from here since the Realm has Tough Challenges for you which will really test your skill. However, there are great rewards to be achieved in the Muspelheim Realm. So enjoy your rewards and good luck on your challenging journey.
