What Is the Draupnir Spear

While players of the god of war games are used to chained up blades, battle axes, and shields, they are now introduced to a tertiary spear which is called the Draupnir Spear. It is the third weapon for Kratos that he can use in the game. A Spartan learns to use a spear as his first weapon, which is why Kratos utilizes it to massacre enemies and demolish them.

This spear, which is both a necessary tool and a showy new weapon in Kratos’ armory, is required to advance through the game. You can call it a pretty versatile choice of weapon for Kratos since you can use it in both close and long-ranged combats. The Draupnir produces an unlimited amount of spears, meaning you won’t have to worry about them running out.

The close-quarters choices, however, also emphasize setting up stun bars. With the spear, you may also steal components from foes. It is so versatile, which kind of makes it the best weapon to unlock in the game. The Chaos Blade and Axe also play important parts in the game. But once you master the Draupnir Spear, you will not need them.

Well, the spear is not directly in the arsenal from the start, so you have to know how to unlock the Draupnir Spear in God Of War Ragnarok. With only those two weapons, you’ll have to play through God of War Ragnarok for a considerable amount of time before receiving the Draupnir Spear, which comes about halfway through the main story.

The Draupnir can be unlocked in God Of War Ragnarok in the quest called The Forging Destiny, which is part of the main storyline. It means that you do not have to worry about missing it. What you have to do is go with Brok and visit the Svartfheim, from where you can start the mission. Brok takes you to the forge of the mermaid, where you find a broken switch that leads to the forge.

What you have to do is gather some materials to fix the switch. You have to go to the silver cluster rock and chop off some silver to give to Brok. Then you do the same process, but this time, you need to chop some bronze near the busted-up wood. Then bring it to Brok, who then moves to fix the mechanism. You can then crank the mechanism, which brings you down to the forge.

You find a lady mermaid who asks for the bag. She then converts the rings and the blade into a spear. She then asks for a Gods blood which, in your case, Kratos, and then she uses that blood to sort of conceal the weapon. Then she turns the spear into a ring to give to you. After leaving the forge, you can utilize the spear and put it to the test.

Using The Draupnir Spear

You can equip it by pressing down the D-pad, and then it will be available to use. Once that happens, you can fight with it like the other weapons, but it has special qualities. You can do a barrage of Attacks by pressing L2+ R1. If you throw about 5 spears at an opponent, you can detonate them all at once. It explodes like a bomb, and you do that by pressing the triangle button.

Also, bear in mind that the cooldowns for the light and heavy abilities are not shared across the three weapons. Prioritize switching between each weapon and use your cooldowns frequently. After working with the other two for so long, it will be challenging to include the Draupnir Spear in that rotation. However, if you practice enough, you will be able to do it perfectly.

Final Words

Now you know how to unlock the Draupnir Spear in God Of War Ragnarok. You can use it to win tons of battles, even from the main bosses. It is a very powerful weapon that will help you in every battle in the game ahead. If you want to learn more about the god of war game, make sure to check our full game review of God Of War Ragnarok
