To increase your rank in Skull and Bones, you would need to win fights in the sea and finish contracts. However, that is only possible if you have the best ship loadout with all types of weapons, including the Auxiliary Weapons. Auxiliary weapons deal massive damage and take a pretty long time to reload, so it is necessary to know about the best ones in Skull and Bones.
- There are 15 Auxiliary Weapons available in Skull and Bones.
- The Termite 3 features massive damage and applies fire, piercing every shot.
- It is also pretty good for plundering, as it has a perk that increases damage to structures by 50%.
- The Termites 3 features three different perks: Siege, Burning1, and Piercing 1.
- Disadvantages of Termites 3 would be its hefty crafting requirements and the fact that it is hard to aim.
- Other than that, Mortar 1 is good for early-game areas in Skull and Bones.
- Author’s Note: I have spent 50+ hours and counting in Skull and Bones to learn about different mechanics, making this guide a trustworthy source of information for you!

6. Mortar 1
- Why I Chose This: I chose the Mortal 1 to be on the list due to its massive range and decent, and the fact that it is the first Auxiliary Weapon you can unlock, which makes it the best for the early game.
Auxiliary Weapons can’t be installed in every ship, so they are pretty rare and useful. You can unlock the first Auxiliary Weapon Mortar 1 once you have reached Brigand 1. As soon as you have reached this level, I would highly recommend you unlock the Mortar 1. This weapon deals massive damage and is great for the early game as it deals high explosive damage, too.
- Decent damage and high range.
- High explosive damage per shot.
- Perk deals explosive damage under certain conditions.
- Unlock requirements might seem harsh.
5. Mortar 3
- Why I Chose This: Mortar 3 is the best auxiliary weapon for explosives, as every hit deals some massive explosive damage to the enemy, and its perk allows it to deal even more explosive damage.
The other Auxiliary Weapon on the list is the Mortar 3, which you can unlock after reaching the Infamy rank of Kingpin 1. This weapon deals massive damage and features a pretty great range, too. However, Auxiliary weapons have a massive reload time, so players should make sure to hit the target at all costs. It deals great explosive damage with every shot, which makes it one of the best auxiliary weapons in Skull and Bones.
While there are better options to choose from when you reach Kingpin 1, the Mortar 3 is pretty good, too.
- Massive normal and explosive damage.
- Good range.
- Can one shoot low-level boats.
- It has the same perk as Mortar 1.
4. Repair Mortar 3
- Why I Chose This: I chose the Mortar 3 as on the battlefield, when you are playing with your friends or strangers, it can prove to be really helpful as the DPS doesn’t matter every time.
Repair Mortar 3 is an advanced version of the normal Mortar 3. However, it doesn’t really give you an upper hand in battle by providing more damage. Its main purpose is to heal the nearby allies’s health thanks to its perk. With every hit, Repair Mortar 3 can heal the allies in a 50m radius. This weapon isn’t meant to be dealing damage, as it is just used to heal the allies in a particular radius. So, depending on your build, it might be worth having, but if you are lacking DPS, then I wouldn’t recommend installing it.
- Provides massive healing to the allies.
- High range and decent blast radius.
- Can be used in a tank build.
- Not viable to deal damage in combat.
- Can’t be used in a DPS build.
3. Leopold 3
- Why I Chose This: Leopold 3 unlocks pretty late, but it is worth unlocking as it deals two different damage types along with high base damage, which can one-shot many ships in Skull and Bones.
After unlocking Leopold 3, things get a little different as it deals two different major types of damage to the enemy. Its base damage is slightly lower than the Mortar 3, but other than that, it can destroy other ships. On every hit, Leopold 3 does massive flooding and explosive damage.
- Massive base damage and range.
- Deals high flooding and explosive damage.
- Features 2 perks.
- Can one shoot some ships.
- One perk is the same as Mortar 1 and 3.
2. Rocket 3
- Why I Chose This: I chose the Rocket 3 to be on the list due to its massive base and fire damage. Also, it does more damage to the weak points and has a massive magazine.
Auxiliary weapons don’t just feature mortars. They also feature rockets that deal pretty high damage. After reaching Kingpin 1, I would recommend you unlock Rocket 3, which is arguably the rocket in that category. While the enhanced rockets are better, I am talking about the normal ones here. It also deals fire damage per shot to the ships and has a magazine size of 30.
- High base damage.
- Additional weak point damage.
- Deals fire damage, too, thanks to the perk.
- Low range and fire rate.
- Aiming is a little hard.
1. The Termites 3
- Why I Chose This: Leopold 3 unlocks pretty late, but it is worth unlocking as it deals two different damage types along with high base damage, which can one-shot many ships in Skull and Bones.
While plundering in skulls and bones doesn’t feature hand-to-hand combat, it does feature fights with many ships and the structure of the settlement. So, The Termite 3 is not a great overall choice. It is also the best choice for plundering in Skull and Bones. It features three massive perks and one of the perks allows it to deal more damage to the structures. That is why it is the best auxiliary Weapon for Plundering.
- High base damage.
- Features three perks.
- Deals more damage on weak points.
- Has a massive magazine size.
- Difficult to aim.
- Harsh crafting requirements.
Similar Options To Go For
I have ranked the six best among the 15 Auxiliary weapons available in the game. So, these are the weapons you can also go for:
- Mortar 2: This weapon falls between Mortar 1 and 3, which is why I didn’t add this to my list, but if you are at Corsair 1, you can go for it.
- Leopold 2: Leopold 2 is a good addition if you are at Cutthroat 1, but the difference isn’t that massive, which is why I prefer directly going for Leopold 3.
- Rocket 2: Again, at Corsair 1, there are many options to go for, but if you don’t feel like getting Rocket 3, then Rocket 2 is a good choice.
- Termites 2: Termites 2 is another good option to go for at Cutthroat 1, but it is better to go for the ones mentioned in the ranking.
My Take On Best Auxiliary Weapons
I think The Termites 3 is the best auxiliary weapon due to its massive base damage, three different perks, and additional benefits it offers.
The Termites 3 has pretty massive damage that can one-shot some ships on the battlefield. However, it requires Kingpin 1 to unlock, which you can’t reach easily. Also, the crafting requirements are pretty hefty, but they are worth unlocking the weapon. It is just a bit hard to aim The Termites 3. Other than that, it’s a pretty solid choice.
That is almost everything you would want to know about the best auxiliary weapons in Skull and Bones. While you are at it, you should check out the guides on the best ships and what are the best armor for them in Skull and Bones to enhance your voyage.
