On July 14, 2025, a new global collaboration was announced between one of Japan’s most prestigious game studios, ACQUIRE Corp, and the up-and-coming UAE-based game publisher and developer, Red Dunes Games. The two studios will co-develop at least three original IPs with the stand-in names Project Tremor, Project Umbra, and Project Shadowcar.
This is only the first wave of games in development, and they focus on the themes of “kaiju battles,” “dark fantasy hunts,” and “shadowy espionage thrillers,” respectively. Although we haven’t received any release window for the titles, they are confirmed to arrive on PC and all major consoles, with global releases, multilingual support, and proper world premieres at distinguished events such as Tokyo Game Show.

ACQUIRE Corp, the studio behind genre-defining titles like Way of the Samurai, Tenchu, and Akiba’s Trip, has long been one of the cornerstones of the Japanese gaming industry. The collaboration marks a significant step towards international co-productions as it is the first UAE-Japan premium game development venture.
ACQUIRE is a legendary studio with a deep creative legacy, and we are honored to work with them to build the next wave of original games… This partnership is a reflection of our belief that the future of gaming lies in global collaboration, where stories cross borders, and innovation knows no region,” said Sultan Darmaki, CEO and Creative Director of Red Dunes Games.
Red Dunes Games is an independent developer and publisher based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with a strong focus on original storytelling and cross-cultural resonance. It is widely known for its creativity, production quality, and global outlook, and the co-development deal is a landmark achievement for its future in the worldwide market.
As ACQUIRE, a studio that has long valued originality from Japan in game development, we are thrilled to have found a wonderful partner in Red Dunes Games and embark on a bold new global challenge together… We’ve always believed in the power of originality. Now, with Red Dunes, we’re building something truly international,” said Takuma Endo, CEO of ACQUIRE Corp.
Tokyo Game Show will begin on September 25, 2025, so we can expect more details on these games, and hopefully, a visual teaser during the event.
