- Embracer group outlines plans for future AAA releases.
- This includes 19 AAA titles by March 2026 and over 30 AAA games in development.
- The publisher has over 220 different games in development.
Embracer Group, formerly known as THQ Noric has become one of the largest and most prolific video game publishers. Embracer has over 16,000 employees spread across 132 different studios across the world.
The company is notable for being prolific in acquiring studios, and its development pipeline is a testament to its growth.
The company has laid out its future release plans in its most recent earnings report. Across Embracer Group as a whole, the company has 224 games under development at their various studios. Of these, 31 are AAA titles, and 19 are set to release by March of 2026.
The project pipeline for the PC/Console operating segment consists of, as of this report, 224 projects, including 31 AAA titles, of which 19 AAA-projects to be launched before March 2026.”
Some of the well-known IPs owned and licensed by Embracer include:
- Lord of The Rings
- The Hobbit
- Deus Ex
- Tomb Raider
- Warhammer 40k
- Star Wars
- Spongebob Squarepants
- Duke Nukem
There is a lot of potential for new games within these IPs and in new IPs. We know of a few in development, such as Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II by Saber Interactive. In the earnings report, Embracer also mentions they are partnering with Amazon to develop a new Tomb Raider Title.
While we can speculate what unannounced titles could be in development, Embracer gives us a list of all of their so-far announced titles.
There’s more where that came from as well.
Previously, it has been rumored that a new Deus Ex game is in development at Eidos. The studio, alongside Crystal dynamics, was sold to Embracer by Square Enix. The Deus Ex IP has sat dormant for years, but may be given new life under Embracer.
There is no shortage of IP at Embracer to use for AAA titles. While Embracer may not be as well known as other giants such as Ubisoft, EA, and Take-Two, their massive army of developers and their 130+ studios have the capability to push out high-quality AAA titles quickly.
Embracer Group will release multiple games this year, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, Payday 3, Homeworld 3, Remant 2, Dead Island 2, and more.
