Story Highlights
- Nearly 90% of Hellblade 2 players on Xbox have yet to complete the story.
- New stats have revealed that only 13% of Xbox players have finished the game.
- The figures are not much better on Steam, with only 37% of players finishing the title.
As per a report by TrueAchievements, nearly 90% of Hellblade 2 players on Xbox have to finish the six-hour story. In other words, only a small group of players have reached the “End the Tyranny” achievement, which is achieved when one finishes the game. It’s almost the same situation for Steam players, with only 37% achieving finishing the campaign.
Similarly, only 52% of Xbox players defeated the first boss in the entry to earn “The Next Sign” achievement before shelving away the title. This figure is at least sitting at 84% for PC players.
Hellblade 2 Has Proven To Not Be Everyone’s Cup Of Tea
It’s unclear why 87% of Xbox players gave up on finishing the short story of the game. One reason could be gameplay; it is not exactly up to par with everyone’s expectations. Ninja Theory was quite invested in making Hellblade 2 the most visually appealing experience, but playing the RPG does not feel as enjoyable as it should be.

The Hellblade sequel was released on May 21, 2024, for Xbox Series X|S and PC. It features photorealistic visuals and immersive cinematics, which were made feasible using Unreal Engine 5. However, focusing too much on the visuals has made Ninja Theory ignore fun gameplay mechanics.
