Someone Has Already Modded Alan Wake Into Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Alan Wake surfs his way into the Like a Dragon universe.

                                                                             Story Highlights

  • Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an upcoming JRPG developed by RGG Studios and published by SEGA.
  • A modder called “Yakuza Serbia” has added Alan Wake’s cast into Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
  • The mod is expected to be released sometime after Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s launch on January 25.

It seems that the renowned writer Alan Wake intends to continue his trend of showing up in unexpected places. A modder by the name of Yakuza Serbia has taken it upon themselves to add not only Alan Wake but most of Alan Wake’s cast into the demo of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This includes Alex Casey, Mr.Wake himself, Alice Wake, and Quantum Break’s Jack Joyce.

The mod itself is currently in development and will likely be available sometime after the full game launches on January 25 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

It aims to add other Remedy universe characters into the game as well including Saga Anderson from Alan Wake 2 and Jesse Faden from Control. The mod is currently being worked on for the demo version of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth which was released as a bonus for purchasing Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

Yakuza Serbia has also made other Alan Wake-related mods for the Yakuza games. Their previous project which was for Like a Dragon Gaiden, replaces main man Kazuma Kiryu with Alex Casey using the likeness of Sam Lake. The mod can be downloaded from here.

Aside from mods, Alan Wake has had official collaborations with certain games too. The character appeared in Fortnite soon after the release of Alan Wake 2. Remedy also collaborated with Behaviour Interactive to bring Alan Wake into Dead by Daylight as a playable survivor. Players can currently check out the character in Dead by Daylight on the PTB servers, with an official release set for January 30.

You have to admit though, after everything he’s been through in his own franchise and even the ones he cameos in, our sad writer deserves a little break, and what better break than a vacation in Hawaii? Until the third game, we can just pretend that Alan going to Hawaii with Alice is the true happy ending for the series.

Alan Wake 2 was released on October 27 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The game received universal acclaim from both fans and critics. eXputer’s Huzaifah Durrani scored the game a 5/5 stating, “Alan Wake 2 is not only the best possible sequel fans could have hoped for, it’s also an incredible survival horror game in its own right.”
