A few factors that were causing the game to crash have also been resolved in the latest update for the third entry in the Baldur’s Gate series. Rare crashes that would occur when faraway characters got close to the party will no longer impact the experience. Furthermore, the game will no longer disrupt your ability to talk with NPCs and party members due to thinking that you’re still in a dialogue.

Hotfix 5 also implements some fixes for the game’s UI. Several issues such as the text being cut off in the title of tutorial pop-ups, button prompts displaying incorrectly on the multiplayer settings screen during split-screen mode, inaccurate tadpole count in the radial menu on the controller, and some UI elements not updating after saving have been rectified.

Aside from the aforementioned fixes, Larian has also addressed some issues in the gameplay department of Baldur’s Gate 3. Trader NPCs will now retain their Approval Rating of avatars and companions even after they’re dismissed to Withers‘ Wardrobe. Additionally, problems such as Level-Up malfunctions due to the system saving its progress and Hag’s Bane not having an effect on Auntie Ethel have been patched out.

The hotfix also resolves some problems on the PlayStation 5 version of the game. An issue causing the game’s audio to stop working along with graphical discrepancies on HDR TVs and crashes occurring due to the onscreen keyboard was ironed out.

Other miscellaneous fixes in the fifth patch for Larian’s latest project include the resolution for a memory leak when creating and destroying many objects. In addition, a bug that locked players out of many of Minthara’s lines of dialogue. Withers’ Wardrobe has also been moved to the crèche camp to avoid clipping with Shadowheart’s tent.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available now on PlayStation 5 and PC. Read on to find out why we believe it to be one of the greatest RPGs of all time.
