Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta Is Largest In Franchise History

There are many games in the gaming world that all gamers have at least played once. Some of these universal experiences include the GTA series, the FIFA games, and Minecraft. One such series that almost every person has played once is Call of Duty. 

You cannot talk about gaming without mentioning the series. It is one of the most popular and highest-grossing media franchises in the world. The influence of Call of Duty is unmatched and every game sells like hotcakes. 

With the Activision acquisition this year, the game has been the main focus of the industry. Call of Duty has dominated the gaming conversation with doubts over its future on platforms and its sustainability. However as the debate goes on, the game continues to break all kinds of records and show its worth over and over again.

Beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has become the biggest in the series’ history. Activision announced this new landmark on the official website of the game. The beta that concluded yesterday racked up the highest numbers out of all previous Call of Duty games. 

Modern Warfare 2 is a sequel to the 2019 reboot of the series called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. In the blog post, the company informed us that the beta had the highest number of players across all platforms. Hence, it performed well on both the PlayStation 4 and 5, the consoles it can leave when Microsoft buys the company.

In addition, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2‘s Beta also had the highest number of hours played for a beta in the series. With so many players, that was an obvious landmark that they were going to achieve. This beta broke another record with the most number of matches played in COD Beta history.

An update on the Call of Duty mobile game was also present in the blog post. The Mobile version of Warzone already has millions of pre-orders on the Google Play Store. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has 15 Million pre-registrations and the numbers continue to grow. 

China downloads are not a part of these numbers released by Activision. So, the actual pre-orders for the game must be far higher when the numbers for China come in. What we can deduce from all of this is that the game is thriving on all fronts. 

Everything will be connected too as the mobile game has cross-play with Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 comes out on October 28, 2022, alongside Warzone 2.0. The mobile version of Warzone has no set release date but we hope it comes out soon.
