Death Stranding 2 is one of the most anticipated games coming out in the next few years. Since its mysterious reveal at the Game Awards, fans have been guessing what the story and release date of the game will be. But, we can predict one thing with certainty about the sequel, it will look breathtaking.

Elle Fanning, one of the stars of the game, said Death Stranding 2 already looks “outstanding” at this early stage. She said the game is only going to look even better as Hideo Kojima wants to perfect it. The director also said he used new technology which made the scanning process a bit difficult.

When we talk about visionaries who have revolutionized gaming, Hideo Kojima is one name we can’t leave out. Besides creating one of the most influential franchises of all time in the form of Metal Gear, Kojima has created some brilliant games. He made the 2014 Playable Teaser for Silent Hills, and the effect of the teaser is felt even now in horror games.

In 2019, the director released Death Stranding, which was the first game from his Kojima Productions studio. The adventure game was Kojima’s first effort at a major AAA release outside of Konami. And, even though the game got some mixed reviews from players, it was a major commercial success.

Death Stranding reached 10 million sales across PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 last year. Thus, making Kojima Productions’ first project a triumph, allowing him the funds to make the new games he wanted. Fans had been waiting a long time before Kojima announced his next game will be Death Stranding 2.

As you would expect, the trailer was confusing and didn’t give much away about the game. However, we do know that Elle Fanning will star in the Hideo Kojima sequel in an important role. Per the star actress, the game already looks amazing and the technology in use is remarkable.

While talking to Kojima and Geoff Keighley, Fanning said that work on the sequel is underway. But, it already looks amazing and the technology in use is “way more“. She went on to say that Death Stranding 2 will look even better in its final form as Kojima is always improving.

(Kojima) always say ‘this isn’t done, this is not what it’s gonna look like at all’. But then I look at it and I’m like ‘it looks pretty amazing.’ But in his mind it ‘oh my god it’s going to be so much better don’t even look at this.'”

Hence, it’s safe to say the legendary creator of Metal Gear is trying to achieve his perfect vision of the game. Elle Fanning further mentioned how even though Death Stranding 2 looks stunning, it will get much better. And, Kojima will be able to achieve his perfect vision regarding this project.

The pair also talked about the new tech in the sequel and how it affected the scanning. Hideo Kojima mentioned how the tech made the process difficult, but the actress was a good sport. Fanning also said that the technology is “going to keep progressing, and progressing.”

I can’t reveal too much right now. But we’ve been using a new technology this time around, so I think the scanning process was a bit difficult, but Elle had fun with it.”

We still have no release date for Death Stranding 2 and will probably release it by 2024. But, these comments coupled with Fanning’s description of how it is more than a game certainly have us excited. Hopefully, we get to see some gameplay soon from Kojima and his team.
