Kojima Productions

Kojima Productions is a Japanese video games studio founded under Hideo Kojima nearly two decennia ago. Kojima Productions was initiated on April 1, 2005, after Konami blended a nexus of subsidiaries, counting Kojima’s team at Konami Computer Entertainment Japan. Kojima Productions is recognized in the gaming sphere for developing the alluring Metal Gear series under Hideo Kojima. Many sequels have been released for numerous consoles, which have extended the original game’s plot, intertwining characters vying and backing Snake.

At the same time, there have also been a couple of prequels probing the origins of Metal Gear and frequently recurring characters. Although the studio was formed as a subsidiary of Konami, it has since steered in a different direction. After Hideo left Kojima and the contract was halted, the studio was reborn to become independent on December 16, 2015. Kojima Productions developed a successful game for PS4, Death Stranding, in 2019, which was a stellar success despite its unique nature.

The game has since come out on PS5 as the director’s cut version and also arrived on PC shortly after. It is the first title from director Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions after their detachment from Konami.
