Story Highlights

  • Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is the latest installment in the Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi series.
  • The game does not have a release date yet, but Bandai is currently putting out more info for it.
  • As per a new post, the game’s first 24 characters have been revealed, but there’s a twist to it.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, otherwise noted as Sparking! ZERO, is a brand-new iteration in the long-running Dragon Ball: Budokai Tenkaichi franchise that’s due for release sometime later this year hopefully. Bandai Namco has made a new post in recent times, announcing the first 24 characters of the game, but funnily enough, don’t expect anything except for Goku and Vegeta for all 24 of those entries.

That’s because the characters listed up until now are all different variants of those two popular figures, such as Goku (Z – Early), Goku (Super), Super Saiyan God, Super Vegeta, and others; quite honestly, I’m happy to discover that Sparking Zero will let enthusiasts such as myself dig into different versions of the same hero character that you love with slightly or perhaps fairly altered statistics and abilities.

In other news, Sparking Zero got treated to a new trailer as well in recent times that showcases the utter rivalry between these two legendary characters. The uploaded footage also gives us a real first glimpse at the type of combat, visuals, transformations, and special abilities that players can expect from Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero once it finally releases. Watch the video yourself ahead, and discover how the exhilarating action unfolds.

On a side note, it was reported earlier that Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is set to have the biggest roster of playable fighters in the history of the franchise, picking figures all the way back from the original Dragon Ball anime to Dragon Ball Daima and GT just as well, which is a personal favorite. God, I love the design of Goku’s Super Saiyan 4

Sparking Zero has no concrete release date yet, but it’s supposed to come out for the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
