Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 Will Officially Release In 2023

One of the most popular genres of gaming on this plane is role-playing games. We see so many of these games from AAA developers and they sell in huge numbers, Elden Ring for one. But, there is another niche of this very popular genre called tactical RPGs.

Such RPGs combine traditional role playing elements with those of strategy games. It is widely popular in Japan and the country releases dozens of new games in this genre every year. One such game which came out last year was Fuga: Melodies of Steel.

CyberConnect2 published and developed Fuga: Melodies of Steel as a part of their Little Tail Bronx series. The game released on every platform and did not sell very well, but the publisher announced a trilogy shortly after. Now, we have news about when the second game in this trilogy will release.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will launch in 2023 according to a new announcement in a recent event. At the Japan Expo 2022 in Paris, CyberConnect2 officially confirmed that the sequel to the first game will come out next year. However, you won’t have to wait much longer for news.

We will hear a lot more about the game in two weeks according to the exposition panel. So, an information dump from Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is coming at the end of July and and is supposedly on July 28. Recently, a Twitter user also posed a picture of the announcement at the exposition and we can clearly see the date for the information dump.

It’s nice to see CyberConnect2 making new games in the series even though the first one had underwhelming sales. As of December 2021, Fuga: Melodies of Steel was only able to recoup 120 million Yen from its 327 million Yen budget, as reported by Famitsu at the end of last year.

But, it is always sad to see such good games from indie developers fail in their commercial hurdle. Fuga: Melodies of Steel is a very fun game to play for any fan of the genre and it also got massive critical acclaim.
