Fuga: Melodies of Steel Trilogy Confirmed By CEO

Fuga: Melodies of Steel will be a trilogy; further details will be announced in July, confirms Hiroshi Matsuyama.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel launched last year as the fourth game in CyberConnect2’s Little Tail Bronx series. The game was a huge hit among the players and got a warm reception from critics as well. This turn-based role-playing game served as a prequel to Tail Concerto and lived up to its huge expectation. There have been many rumors about a sequel to Fuga with the players wanting more from the series. Recently, company CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama officially confirmed that the game is in the works, and it seems to be a trilogy.

In an interview with Famitsu, Matsuyama officially said that Fuga 2 is in development at the studio. More info about the game is coming in July according to the CyberConnect2 CEO. As of now, the studio has only given a tentative name to the sequel calling it Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2. Talking to Famitsu, Matsuyama said:

We are planning to announce “Fuga: Melodies on the Battlefield 2 (tentative title) ” in July . In terms of game content, I will draw a year after the character that appeared in the first work.

The CEO also talked about the future of the Fuga series. Matsuyama said that the Fuga games will actually be a trilogy. So, CyberConnect2 aren’t working on only one new Fuga game but are also working on a third game in the series. In the interview, Hiroshi Matsuyama said:

YesIn fact, ” Fuga: Melodies on the Battlefield ” is scheduled to be a trilogy. And ” Fuga: Melodies on the Battlefield ” was originally planned to be produced in a trilogy, so I’ll say it here.

Therefore it’s a certainty that we are getting more games in the Fuga trilogy. Another member of the CyberConect2 team also verified this news from the CEO. The Creative Director of Fuga: Melodies of Steel also confirmed through a tweet that the studio is working on Fuga 2 and 3. The director corroborated Matsuyama’s interview saying that we will get more news about the games in July.

Matsuyama also said in the interview that all three games are part of the revenge trilogy. All the games follow the same narrative pattern according to the CEO and the studio made them as a single body of work. Matsuyama also talked about some details of the Manga but said nothing will spoil the upcoming sequel.

A brand new Fuga game is big news for the fans. The original was not only popular in Japan but also went big overseas. The shining reviews speak for themselves but such fan demand for an RPG is a great success for the genre. Hopefully, the next two games in the series live up to the expectations and we continue to see more games in the series. We can’t wait for July to see what CyberConnect2 has to offer.
